Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job well. Firstly the hoover does a good of job at cleaning with very good suction power and the turbo brush is brilliant, but it gets heavy and cumbersome the more I use it. I'm forever hitting the handle on furniture, the hand grip is strong and well made but you have to be strong to use it! My last cordless was light, nibble and came with a light, but emptying it was messy, the Duoflex is a much better design and less messy when emptying the cylinder. However I have to say I don't use my corded hoover that much in preference to convenience. I wouldn't recommend this for my 80 year old mother it's simply too much of an handful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made cordless vacuum cleaner for small tasks Bought this on sale a week or so ago after seeing a review on rtings.com. Fairly happy with the vacuum cleaner. Although the suction doesn't seem that strong, it is effective on our hard floors and rugs. The powerhead seems to make a big difference. With the small internal battery (2.5Ah), it's not enough to do our entire house - about 5 rooms out of 7. And it takes 3.5 hours to fully recharge so if you want to use it for everything then you'll need to stagger your cleaning or do it a bit at a time. The waste collector is small but a good compromise given the size of the unit.

The "electrobrush" seems to add a lot to cleaning carpets and it adjusts automatically to different surfaces. The dust container is easy to empty. It's heavier than some I've used but not an issue. The body has a recess meaning it can be left leaning on a table.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality device that’s thoroughly adaptable and powerful. I was sceptical, but the 100–day trial and the promotional price made it worth a go. It took a couple of days, but its usefulness quickly became apparent. The accessories add a great deal to its versatility. With further innovation in batteries and in filter management, I can see this replacing mains-powered machines altogether. Simply more useful than a larger hoover for quick cleaning and for smaller, tighter areas and gaps, ceilings, corners … And spiders.

This is a very powerful vac and has excellent pick up, I have thick carpets just about everywhere and to be fair to Miele they don't recommend it for carpets. I has improved the look of my carpets and is excellent (5 star) on non carpeted areas. Because of the thickness of my carpets it does fill the collection box very quickly and has to be emptied for each room which is annoying. A bit heavy due to the battery at the handle end but it performs extremely well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed. I did a lot of research before deciding upon this vacuam cleaner. The suction is excellent. It is strong and sturdy as I would expect from Miele. I do also have a corded Dyson vacuam cleaner. I find this one to be quick and easy particularly when in a hurry. I bought it mainly to vacuam very high beams and cobwebs. It would be extremely useful if they would consider making extension poles for this reason. I highly recommend. This machine is superior to Dyson.

Thank you for your question. The Miele Duoflex HX1 Cordless Handstick Vacuum Cleaner has a suction power of approximately 316 air watts (AW) under optimal conditions, this is nearly twice the suction power of the Dyson V8 original, which is rated at 115AW
