Rated 4 out of 5 by FrankM from Good Quality Images I purchased this nearly a month ago and have found that the camera produces good quality images. The software allows one to have the camera automatically start up and record various event types when I leave him and it turns it off when I arrive home. I also get notifications when an event is detected. The only issue I have found is that I excluded from detection the road but that does not seem to work properly as I will get notified when cars are detected. Also, I was confused about the plans. I did not realise that I could have had a free period and subscribed to get the extra functionality.

The animal/vehicle/person/fire(beta) recognition is great however I was very disappointed to learn that they do not support industry standards such as ONVIF or rstp - effectively locking you into their ecosystem of products. Oh they claim it's for 'security' however there are plenty of ways to secure your rtsp or ONVIF compliant camera. Very disappointed really and will be replacing with a different camera at my earliest convenience in order to integrate with my existing non-Arlo CCTV environment.

The setup was straightforward, and the app is intuitive and user-friendly. The picture quality is crystal clear – day or night – and I’m genuinely impressed by the sharpness and detail. The alert notifications are instant and accurate, and I love being able to hear what’s going on and even talk through the camera. The two-way audio feature is brilliant! Most importantly, having Arlo cameras has given me such a strong sense of security, especially with kids in the house. Whether I'm home or away, I feel confident knowing I can check in anytime and that we're protected. Highly recommend – it's a smart, reliable investment for any home.

Video quality is great and there seems to be alot less lag between when something is picked up on camera to when I receive notifications on my phone. We have a total of 5 cameras, 1 on solar panel and 1 on outdoor power cable. Not 5 stars due to not being able to seperate routines of each device- or at least not user friendly enough to find or use in the app.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sure from Good Camera Got this camera few weeks before, installation was breeze, but the only draw back was the new software, the application is a pain, too complex and one need to be an expert and if you are an Android user, forget it, the app is made for iOS, so support personnel will define and talk iOS menus which will confuse, so the easiest way I found is to setup / schedules / automation through iOS and work with Android

Information on subscription and features disingenuous. Onboarding ok, day and night vision ok. Hoping functionality will improve through firmware and software updates in the future. Bought 2 but won’t use the 2nd one because of limited functionality. Subscription is over priced.

On the second night I got footage of a thief stealing plants out of my garden. The police didn’t catch him but him was on social media, when I posted on our neighbourhood site! Thank you Arlo for making me feel safer in my home!

Love that I can view from my phone or desktop. Has it's own sensor light which is extremely bright and love the fact I can sound off an alarm if need be. I'm still only in the learning stage of my cameras, but so far so great.

How do you recharge the wireless camera and how often? If it's above a reachable height and involves getting the ladder out every week would it be a better to go for a wired option?

You need to remove the camera from its mount and charge it via USB-C. Alternatively, you can purchase an outdoor charging cable or solar panel to keep it charged without removal. If mounted high (e.g., above a garage or second-story eave), you’ll need a ladder to access it for charging.
