The Ring Video Doorbell Elite is so convenient to use via our smartphones, tablets or PC. The downloadable Ring app is free which allows you to see, hear and speak to people through the device. The camera is 1080 HD providing a clear picture and the IR night vision allows motion detection within the set motion zone. I like the sleek styling which is important aesthetically and my husband had no problem installing it. The convenience and security that this has provided us is well worth the price. I highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really Good! This has been one of the best and most useful purchases I made for my home! It’s easy to get set up and makes me feel safer and more secure in my home. I’m able to log into the app at any time with no problems and be able to check on my house. Whenever someone is approaching, I hear a loud chime go throughout the home. The only reason I took off one star is because i believe the sensor is pretty sensitive. My house sits on a hill and the chime goes off everytime a car just passes, which is more inconvenient but I still would rather be safe than sorry. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend and really do think everyone should have one. A great product overall!

This is not your average doorbell — it’s a professional-grade, hardwired solution that feels like a real upgrade for any modern smart home. It requires Ethernet and professional installation (PoE), which might seem intimidating, but it ensures stable connectivity and no lag, unlike some Wi-Fi-only models. Once it’s in, it’s rock solid. The 1080p HD video is crisp and clear, day or night. The infrared night vision works great, and motion detection is sharp without being overly sensitive.

You get to the door and ring the bell and people inside the house will hear it (if they get the ringer device), but also they will receive notification at their phones. A smart doorbell! You can even record interactions from your mailer or delivery guy. If someone comes home you can answer them from you phone and tell them to wait for you or go away. It’s a very convenient way of managing visits and even watching for package bandits. There’s a lot of videos on YouTube showing how this doorbells caught people stealing packages. This is a very useful device that any modern home should have. It saves a lot of guessing and offer some sense of protection.

We used it all the time pre-pandemic (checking to see if the cat sitter was coming and going as scheduled while we were away on vacation for example) but even being home all the time now I still find myself relying on it to see why there is motion or someone at the door. I like having the option to go back and view what happened earlier in the day but that does require a yearly subscription. Which is the down side. I also haven’t had any luck pairing their lights with the doorbell sensor going off.

It seemed to work OK, but it lacked the security aspect that I think was really important, which was an alarm system. It was nice to be able to see the person at the door, but what if that person wanted to kill me? I disassembled it and gave it to my daughter and it now sits in a box. Sometimes I think it’s easier just to hire a service to do something for you than to worry about wiring, apps, and that sort of thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We have the ring We have the ring doorbell and its worked really well it does however pick up every car that drives by and Ive even played with the sensitivity settings and it either doesnt pick up anything or picks up every car that drives by so thats been irritating. I also dont like that it doesnt save your videos after a year and then you have to pay to keep her videos. It has helped out though during Covid if we have to do delivery and we have to talk to them through the door!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was looking for I was looking for a smart doorbell that was compatible with POE(power over Ethernet). After doing my research it came down to this doorbell and the door-bird. I ended up choosing ring because their user interface is much better. This doorbell is not as easy to install as the regular ring doorbell because it does require a flush mount install. Ring does provide everything you need in the box including a junction box if you do not already have one installed.
