Reviews
Miele 57cm 3 Zone Induction Cooktop - Black Glass (KM 7200 FR/11230330) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Quite There The cooktop does what it should but 2 issues. Firstly it is almost impossible to see the rings around each element to ensure pot or pan is accurately placed. Fine for a cooking pot but stirring causing the pan to move means constant checking. Second, controls probably fine for a delicate little thing but, as a bloke, hitting the right heat setting with a fat finger makes it an excercise in dexterity.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Replacement of induction cooktop I had the same cooktop prior to purchasing this one and was extremely happy with the product and loved cooking by induction. I feel the quality of the glass was better in my previous one. This one gets much hotter on the surface and the outline of the rings are too light and it is difficult to see where to place the saucepan. It also seems to make more noise when cooking than the previous one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very disappointed! We bought this Miele induction cooktop as a result of the Miele induction cooktop we bought 15 years ago needing a repair that would have cost more than buying its new equivalent, the KM 7200 FR. As we have always been very favourably impressed by the quality and durability of Miele appliances, we assumed the new induction cooktop would be at least as good as the one it replaced. And so, unfortunately, we did not check it out at first hand and compare it to other brands or models in an appliance showroom. However, although we have still not had time to thoroughly explore all the new cooktops functions, our initial impressions of some of its basic functions and features have been very disappointing. Firstly, we find the touch temperature controls difficult to use. Despite taking great care to position our finger tips precisely when selecting a temperature, we often find the temperature activated is not the one touched/selected but instead the one beside it, e.g. 9 instead of 8. Is this because the temperature numbers are too close to each other, or is it because of an inherent weakness or fault in the temperature controls? Secondly, the touch controls (not just the temperature controls) don't seem to be very sensitive or responsive even when our fingers and the cooktop surface are completely clean, i.e. often several touches on a control are needed before it will react. Thirdly, the markings on the cooktop to indicate saucepan sizes for each heating element are rather faint and not easy to see. So to sum up, at this stage we are very surprised and disappointed to find that Miele's latest version of its 3 element induction cooktop is actually more difficult to use than the 15 year old one it has replaced. How can 15 years of development and refinement actually end up producing an inferior product? Is a product as difficult to use as ours appears to be really fit for purpose?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Induction! Installed recently in new home & loving the induction. The Boost heat up function excellent & find the control and evenness of cooking is brilliant. Compact but ample room for even a very large pot plus 2 others. Used to have gas but would never go back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our Miele Induction Cooktop My husband and I bought our Induction Cooktop several weeks ago and are extremely happy to embrace this concept for cooking. It is incredibly efficient on power, with water heating to boiling point in approximately 90 seconds. At the same time we love the immediate cut-off, if selected, as well. The handles on our saucepans/frypans do not heat which makes it simple to just pick up the pan to move to another surface. The installation was simple and the Manual is easy to read and comprehend, which is important when taking on a completely new device. Our previous cooktop was gas which we enjoyed using very much but our Miele Induction cooktop is superior to it because the Induction has the almost instant heat, that gas cooking offers, and it has the instant heat turn-off as well, with its rapid cooling. The cooktop surface looks stylish and is easy to clean and shiny. Another thing we've noticed is that our pans are easier to clean, even if food has stuck to the pan surface. There is no scrubbing of pots necessary which makes the Induction cooking experience very enjoyable. We cook most of our meals from scratch and at home, and find the quality of our meals is equally as good as when using gas, if not even better. Thanks you Miele for yet another wonderful product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hob The definition of the rings is hard to see sometimes. The cooking can be noisy but this was cured by better quality pans. Easy to use. Does what we need and more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it !! In the past have had gas hobs but I have to say this cooktop leaves them for dead. Fast easy to use. Have even bought a kettle and thrown away my electric jug as the water boils, on the top, in seconds.
