Description

Our  Whiteware Removal of Old Unit*1 Service offers the removal of your old dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, refrigerator or oven, when the new one is delivered.

To use this service, the old appliance must be the same type and configuration as the new one being delivered.

  • The appliance being removed must match the category (e.g., washing machine for washing machine, fridge for fridge), and
  • It must match the format/style where applicable (e.g., freestanding vs integrated, single vs double cavity, top‑load vs front‑load, etc.).

The old appliance must also be disconnected from power, plumbing and gas and be ready to be uplifted.


*1 Service only available on delivery of new appliance. Delivery must be within a 30km radius of a Harvey Norman store or additional charges apply. Excludes removing units still wired-in, plumbed or built in to cabinetry. Unit must be unplugged and ready to be uplifted. Complex or difficult jobs may require additional charges. There may be restrictions, additional costs or inability to provide services for locations that are rural or on remote islands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I paid a stranger to kidnap my dead machine Let’s be honest: There are few things in life more humbling than trying to manoeuvre a 70kg washing machine through a doorframe while yelling "PIVOT" at your significant other. It destroys relationships. It destroys Gyprock walls. It destroys your will to live. So, I paid the "Removal of Old Unit" ransom fee. Here is my review of the service that essentially amounts to appliance euthanasia. The "Edgy" Stuff (Why it rules): The "Walk of Shame" is someone else's problem. My old machine was gross. It had slime in the seals and smelled like a wet dog wrapped in gym socks. Watching two burly strangers hoist that shame-box onto their truck and drive it away forever? Pure serotonin. It was like a funeral, but I was smiling and didn't have to wear a suit. It saves you from the "Hatchback Tetris" nightmare. Have you ever tried to fit a whiteware appliance into a standard car? It ends with you sitting in the fetal position in the trunk while the boot lid crushes your spine. This service eliminates that. The truck arrives, the truck leaves, and your garage remains usable. No tip fees. Taking stuff to the dump is expensive and smells like rot. This service is a VIP ticket to skipping the landfill queue. You just point at the dead unit like a Roman Emperor sentencing a gladiator, and poof, it’s gone. The Verdict: Is it weird to pay men to take your trash? Maybe. Is it better than throwing your back out and scratching the paint in your hallway? Absolutely. Pros: Zero physical exertion required (mostly). Prevents arguments about "how to lift properly." My house no longer houses a haunted washing machine. Cons: none! Highly recommend. (If you value your spine).

We aim to dispatch orders within 2 days. Delivery costs are calculated based on your location and the size of your order. Furniture may take up to 8 weeks to deliver as most products are made specifically for your order. Some Customer Direct products are shipped from overseas and may take longer to arrive. Some goods may take longer to deliver if a product is currently not in stock.
