These mats work great for about a week (approx 10 projects). In fact, sometimes too good. Then, all of a sudden, the corners seem to loose their adhesiveness. I have to keep masking tape handy so I can secure the corners. Also, I've noticed that they don't last at all if I use Brazzil paper or others that say they're cardstock but have a very high fiber content, much like construction paper. Once I even received a \"new\" mat that the clear cover didn't stick to. Wish there was a happy medium.

Good mats
The old mats (with the flower background) were better. They lasted longer and the sticky rejuvenated easier and longer. But the people saying 4-5 uses... That's not my experience. Wash with dish soap and warm water, lightly used a nylon scrubbie if needed and let air dry. DO NOT USE AWESOME CLEANER. It will take the adhesive off of these newer mats. Also, I found if I use my Cricut scraper to smooth down the cardstock or vinyl, it sticks much better and you can get a lot more uses between cleanings.

Lesser Quality Than Anticipated
Two weeks after purchasing this set of mats, both have lost their stickiness. Most disturbing is that one of the new mats jammed up in my machine mid cut. The top leading left corner folded itself underneath the mat (thus jamming the machine). After powering down and powering back up to eject the mat, there was so salvaging the edge. It has a permanent ruffled edge and is unable of being loaded. The second mat has not jammed in my machine. But it is now cracking at three weeks of being used.

Mats are problematic.
The last pack of standard mats I bought were so sticky at first I had trouble getting the cardstock off. Part of my project was ruined. I found the light mat works better on most materials I use. I also agree with other reviewers that they lose their stickiness too soon. For the price, these mats should be longer lasting. Cricut should come up with better, less expensive mats.

Mats too expensive
I, too I’m disappointed in Cricut’s prices for mats. This weekend, I counted the number of cuts that I got before the mat was no longer sticky enough to hold my vinyl. (8). I rotated the mat to optimize the entire mat. Please Cricut, come up with a solution to this “sticky “ problem. Ex. A cleaner and a spray to help restore the mats. They are expensive to replace.

Restoring Tack to a Mat
I made a mistake in using a glitter paper where the glitter adhered to the machine and mat. A huge mess, A survey of You Tube videos and I followed the instructions of using Goo Gone Gel to clean the mat and restore the tack with Loctite 100 Lite ( a little challenging to find but did so at Joanne's).
The mat cleaned up beautifully and the tack was restored to its original strength. I do keep the dust cover on the mat and, admittedly, am not a daily user. Still, the performance of the mat is unchanged from that first rookie error.
What seems to be missing from previous reviews is that they sprayed their mat with a light adhesive. Granted, the tack shouldn't disappear after a few uses - and that wasn't my experience before Glitter Gate - but it can be restored.

Difference in stickiness of mats
I usually don’t have an issue with these mats, but one of the mats was so sticky that it was very hard to remove my material, the other mat was not near as sticky, it was more like a light grip mat. I was surprised at the difference in the two mats. Thankfully I was able to use both mats.

Tired of buying mats!!
I have tried everything that I have about and some works for a little while and that’s it!!! I hate wasting my materials and getting upset with my projects ,because of the mats!!! I wipe my mats nearly after every use too ... Ughhh!!! :(
