Knife Blade works well
I started by cutting a medium and then a heavy 4-5 oz leather. The blade worked very well. I cut out several key cases with this. I was quite pleased with the accuracy and it was accomplished in only 4 passes. As you will find, leather does make a mess on the Cricut mat, and will need to be cleaned. You may want to look on the internet for hints on dying leather colors. I found that it hardened the leather, and then found better ways to dye the leather, but this is a review of the Knife Blade which I am anxious to find more projects that I want to accomplish with this blade.

LOVE the knife blade
I LOVE the knife blade. I used this to cut out leather luggage tags. I then embossed them with the regular blade after wetting the leather so the embossing stood out. I also added some HTV. They were a hit with my colleagues. For those who have this a bad review, your design cannot be too intricate. I used thick 7oz leather and it cut like a dream! It takes a few passes to cut all the way through but my tags were PERFECT and I made 12 with the same blade without any issues.

Very disappointed with this product
Very disappointed with this product. The blade broke after one us of cutting 2.0 mm Cricut brand chipboard. That was the entire purpose for purchasing a Maker.

Great addition for the Maker
I wonder if the people who have had trouble with this blade have called Cricut for help. I have cut the heavy chipboard without it breaking. I have had no problems with it and have great cuts with it. I cut several puzzles that have rounded edges and it did a great job. I have no complaints. Call Cricut for help if you have a problem, they will take care of you.

Disappointing
Bought this blade for chipboard and wood projects. Very disappointed. This blade cannot cut any material in under 4 hours. Even craft foam- which can be cut with the deep point blade- takes hours to cut, because the blade moves at the same speed regardless of the material.

Don't waste your money
Like many others I bought the maker 3 because of its marketing of cutting wood. This blade barely cuts into the basswood boards. I even flipped my design and that still didn't help. I hope they update this design (though I wish I could get my money back.) At a minimum we should be able to change the pressure for this blade .

Blade tip broke off first time I tried to use it!
I was SOOOO excited to get my Knife Blade in the Mail I have been wanting to make 3D wood signs for quite awhile and when I learned that this would cut some thin wood I was ready to finally try!! I got my knife blade in yesterday and Cricut Basswood in today so I tried it today.. I watched videos and did everything I was told to do and not even 1/4 the way through cutting a word I kept getting this “blade stuck” error.. I followed instructions and it kept happening! When I took my blade out after I gave up, I noticed that my blade tip seemed to be broke off! Like really!?? Cricut.. I am very disappointed I honestly am so sad now cause I had such high hopes!! I would love some feedback on how to make sure It doesn’t happen again but I see a lot of comments stating the same thing and that’s just really disappointing
