Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too strong I do have to admit, even though I had read what this was used for in regards for the vinyl "type" - I had no idea it would destroy regular vinyl. I had ordered 2 extra rolls of this to cut a window sign for a client's business and felt awful when they told me they spent hours trying to apply it to their door - that the vinyl would not stick to the glass because the transfer tape was too strong. So now I get to cut their logo AGAIN free of charge - and I'm stuck with 2 rolls of this that I'll never use. Maybe I can return them, but won't be buying again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Some Clarification Would Help It’s too strong for regular vinyl. I spent too long peeling away and cleaning up residue from the transfer tape for a project that I couldn’t just redo. The reviews for this product might be better if there was some clarification on the package stating that this is best used with glitter or shimmer vinyls. I certainly would have heeded that advice if I’d known. Very disappointed so buyer beware!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great for Leather I use my Cricut mainly to cut leather and this holds my leather in place beautifully. Works great for anything thicker than 3oz leather, which I've cut from 3oz to 5oz leather using the Cricut Explore Air 2 (I did a You Tube Tutorial on this). It is very adhesive, so given the other reviews, I wouldn't use this for any thin materials. I always cut my leather with the flesh side down and remove the transfer tape very gently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FOR GLITTER/SHIMMER vinyl Only transfer tapes that work for me for Glitter and Shimmer vinyl only. Not sure why the bad reviews except maybe they were not using it for those types of vinyl I just mentioned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Difficult I bought the strong grip hoping it worked for the Joy Shimmer vinyl. Compared to two other brands I tried first, the StrongGrip lifted the cut vinyl without too much trouble, but transferring the cut vinyl to my project was very difficult. The vinyl was so attached to the transfer paper it took real effort to transfer the vinyl without damage. I didn’t enjoy the process AT ALL and would not buy Shimmer again because it’s so difficult to use. I will say that the material looks very nice on the Yeti cups I made. I hope the vinyl stands up to hand washing. It’s more like a foil than a vinyl in many ways. I can’t imagine what other medium I would use it on and additionally, StrongGrip is a pricey product compared to many other very good brands.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage of a Product Absolute garbage transfer tape!! It should be a special order for the only 2 products it’s compatible with, otherwise it will ruin any other vinyl you try and use with it. Huge waste of money. Will never use this product again! Also, the packaging should say very clearly that it is only useful with the glitter and shimmer vinyl and a “do not use with normal vinyls”, not just “strong hold”.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too much of a grip! I found this very frustrating to use for what I was using it for. I go with the standard grip, it my preference. Maybe I’ll need a stronger grip later, I’m still learning. I originally used it for printable vinyl labels.
