The gold standard for Mac users — worth every cent
After years of trying third-party keyboards, I came back to the Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and it’s stayed on my desk ever since. The low-profile scissor keys strike the right balance between travel and responsiveness — quiet enough for shared spaces, tactile enough to type on for hours without fatigue.
The numeric keypad is the main reason to choose this over the compact version. If you work with spreadsheets, data entry, or anything numbers-heavy, it’s genuinely a productivity upgrade you’ll notice immediately. The full arrow key cluster is also a bonus that the standard Magic Keyboard lacks.
Battery life is exceptional — charge it every few weeks at most. Bluetooth pairing with macOS is seamless, and switching between devices (if you use multiple Apple products) is straightforward.
The only honest caveats: it’s expensive for a keyboard, and USB-C users will need an adapter for the Lightning charging cable on older models. It also won’t satisfy anyone who wants deep-travel mechanical keys.
If you’re in the Apple ecosystem and want a keyboard that just works beautifully with your Mac, this is the one.
