Nice, but needs 3" Longer Cable, & a FlipDown Leg
Great Speed and not too much heat, running on my Mac Mini M1.
Form factor is a bit smaller than even expected, cute and manageable.
However, the included cable is Way Too Short, risking torque on a USB-C port when trying to arrange the cable to not be right up against the adjacent HDMI cable - so be gentle... The included cable should be 2" to 4" inches longer - PLEASE :)
And, to upgrade the Great Design of the casing - add a 1" flip down leg, for the option to raise the unit at one end - for more air flow and less heat. Having it sit flat on top of a machine makes it prone to getting hotter during large transfers, and thus could reduce lifespan.

The Worst Drive, Ever!
Something like this being known and SanDisk ignoring and still selling the products, is ridiculous. This drive lasted maybe a month and then I lost GB's of pictures and videos from the previous weekend. I unfortunately did not have time to offload them onto my server, as I was traveling, and now everything is gone. It no longer is showing up in disk utility to even wipe it or have it be recognized. It is essentially a poor paper weight on my desk. No photos to add, as I can't even show what it is reading as on any computer.
This is a major failure on SanDisk and they need to make it right.

Unreliable, short lived, garbage! Don't Trust it!
I bought a solid state hard drive to edit video and music on a macbook pro. The internal HD on the macbook is so small for media. I bought this SSD HD expecting the best. I started having issues right off of the bat. The macbook not recognizing the drive. However, after a few unplug and plug back in, I can usually get it to work. I got injured and haven't been making media in 6 months. Recorded a video today only to find out that I cannot get this to work for the life of me. No ability to to use disk utility to repair. No recognition what so ever. I've lost hundreds of hours of video and thousands of photos. What kind of product is this?

Continuously disconnects during data transfer
Whoever thought it was a good idea to ship a 6" USB-C cable with an external SSD such that it is impossible to have the drive well-supported without a shelf or bolting it to the PC case - I hope you made that money saving $0.50 per shipment.
Incredibly poor decision to ship this with the shortest ever manufactured USB-C cable. On top of that, the drive just loves to disconnect a few seconds into any kind of data transfer. How wonderful.
If anyone responds to this - do not even think about mentioning driver updates. I swear.
Save your money. Buy something that works.

It would get a 5 stars if I can get some support
The price, small shape of the drive, and speed are great. I have a Macbook Air.
It worked fine until a couple days ago out of where it no longer mounts to my Mac OS.
I don't have a PC to fix the drive, and it's not the charging port. I own 2 of these which are the exact same drive. The other one works fine, but my other one does not respond no matter what I do. If SanDisk provided some type of software to fix this issue on my MacOS that would be great.

Not Dependable
Very disappointed in this drive. I bought it to replace a drive I use at my school. So far, I have had to recreate tests and other school documents that I saved on this drive because I could no longer open them after I created and saved them. At first I thought it was user error, but I started saving them to another external drive first before the san disk drive. I still lost some of my documents on the San Disk but not on the other drive. I emailed WD support about my issue and I have not receive any response. The final straw that made me write this review is I am in the year book coordinator at my school and I just lost this 720 pictures I transferred from my camera to the San Disk drive. I have used many SanDisk and WD drives in the past and I am really disappointed in this product.

Didn't last six months, slow loading speeds.
Very problematic SSD. It would take about 30 seconds to begin reading/writing data, then would transfer at about 25 Mbps from the laptops internal SSD on USB-C. It would consistently take more and more time to initialize, on multiple devices, until it finally stopped registering on any device.

I plugged it right into my ps5 to clear up some space and save some games and it couldn’t have gone any smoother. I highly recommend this product to any gamer out there.
