new laptop better than the last
Bought it for my son. He is generally loving having a new laptop.
He uses a stand to get his laptop screen up close to his larger monitor screen and is disappointed the new laptop doesn't open closer to 180 degrees. Laptop is tilted down a little too much so can't use his stand anymore.
He also mentioned that his monitor lags a little when playing games (which isn't too often), which he grew accustomed to on his old laptop, but was hoping this new one had enough processing power to keep up... but appears not to. He uses a docking station so maybe there is some set up tuning we can explore.

Misleading advertising
I ordered and received this laptop in April 2026 without having seen the unit prior. Unfortunately, the display advertised as having a "178-degree wide-viewing angle" was very misleading. Even a slight change in screen angle had a significant impact on visibility and colour, meaning there was only a very narrow viewing range in which the screen could be used without being majorly impaired.
I unfortunately would not recommend purchasing this laptop if display quality is a concern for you.

Noisy loose trackpad
Most things about the HP OmniBook 3 are good.
It should include 2 USB-C instead of just 1 USB-C port.
It has a loose and noisy trackpad.
Any slight pressure will cause it to depress the trackpad and make a clicking noise.
Very annoying when using it as a trackpad and not attempting to click.

What is the battery life of the Omnibook 3 14 inch Next Gen AI (14-HA0005AU)? I note that the Snapdragon powered Omnibook 5 14 Next Gen AI (14-he0013QU has an advertised 34 hour battery life.

Omnibook 3 14-HA0005AU using battery type 3-cell, 41 Wh Li-ion polymer and can be resulted up to 12 hours battery life.
Meanwhile Omnibook 5 with Snapdragon 14-he0013QU as per advertised result as 34 hours battery life. This happened because, Snapdragon have power efficiency as to optimizing the power consumption.
Also, this 2 model applied with HP AI companion which this features can deep learned on the user usage pattern as to optimizing again the power consumption. This features will impacted to the battery life result.
But however, This will be depending on the user usage. The result appeared as testing with certain condition as per standard.
