A great little printer to replace my HP Office Jet
Great little printer. It replaced my HP Office Jet Pro 8620 which mysteriously developed a printhead problem after 10 years of use. The Epson can also do duplex double-sided printing. I selected best quality print and showed my wife the original and the photocopy and she asked me which one was the photocopy! Also the printer can use generic ink cartridges once the warranty period expires. And that will save me a heck of a lot of ink money compared with my old HP printer which would only use genuine HP ink cartridges. Glad I bought the Epson XP 4200.

Printer works great
Bought online easily and received quickly. Great little printer for its price. I haven't managed to connect to bluetooth but I had a usb cable so it didn't matter. Will have a proper go at that when I have time. Working well with Win 11 laptop very happy with purchase.

Happy - just what I wanted.
Arrived quick and just what I wanted to replace my old HP of 12 years. Fair amount of set up involved but it’s straight forward when following the app on your phone/desktop.
Prints slightly faster than my old one - but I got it more for the wireless capability and AirPrint rather than fast printing.

The rigmarole you have to go through setting it up and getting it going is nothing short of cruel. Why do I have to register it with you, why is it your business? Why do you need to know the retailer I bought it from? Why do you need to know the date I bought it?
And as for getting the driver going, it is nothing short of disgusting. I have spent half a day trying to answer all your stupid, irrelevant questions and don't even ask about your FAQ"S. How is anyone supposed to find one answer from the hundreds of answers?
It might suit you to know all the personal questions but it doesn't suit the average Joe Blow.
I know you will not give a second thought about what I have just written but at least I told you.
Believe it or not, but you are not the center of the universe, we, your customers are.

Good printer, especially for the price
Over all I am happy so far, with this printer. All the functions one would expect, and what one gets for the price is hard to beat. It only gets 4 stars as I have been unable to get it to connect to my home wifi, so needed to resort to using a cable to connect it to my laptop. Luckily I had the right cable, as none came with the printer. All the suggested fixes within the printer, software and Epson website have not resolved the wifi issue. My impervious HP printer had connected to my wifi.

Hit and miss
I bought this printer in August 2023. I chose it for the price convenience and also for the fact that it allows double sided printing without the need of manually turn the pages.
I have used it in several occasions and at the beginning found no issue whatsoever. With time, though, I have noticed more and more paper jams. I have owned several Epson printers in the past and never had a problem. With this one, if I leave paper in the tray, it is almost certain that it will jam when printing either one sided or double sided. It is becoming very frustrating to be honest.
All together, the quality of print, the speed and the features offered are ok. But this, unfortunately, at least for me, does not outweighs the paper jamming constantly.

Efficient and user friendly _A Great Home Printer
I recently purchased the Epson Expression Home XP-4200 A4 All-in-One Inkjet Printer from Harvey Norman, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. This printer is a fantastic addition to my home office setup. It was incredibly easy to set up right out of the box, and the user interface is intuitive, making it simple to navigate through its functions.

Will this printer operate on a MAC OS 10.13.6 computer
Hi John, the Epson Expression Home XP‑4200 will work with macOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra), as Epson provides drivers for that version and supports Mac OS X 10.9.5 or later. However, because your macOS is older, you may only get basic printing and limited scanning features, so using AirPrint or downloading the correct driver manually is often the easiest setup

How many pages can be printed with the cartridges that are included?

Will it keep working if one colour runs out
Great question! The printer will not operate if any cartridge is completely empty, because it needs ink in all cartridges to protect the printhead. However, if a colour cartridge is empty, you can often switch to black-only printing from your computer by changing the printer settings. Hope this helps^RR

Can i print DTF with this printer?
Thanks for your question Philly. It may be possible with a conversion kit, however, this would fall outside the normal operation for this printer, and would void the warranty if found to cause a fault. We sadly do not range any DTF specific printers. Hope this helps clarify! ^CO

Does this printer scan and upload the file to a laptop?
Hi Lisa, yes, you can scan documents and upload them directly to your laptop using the Epson Smart Panel app or Epson ScanSmart software. The software is included with the unit, and you can also download it from the Epson New Zealand website.
