Well priced scanner for features it offers
My existing Epson Perfection V370 was great excellent initially however in time it was plagued with a faulty power pack that continually introduced noise into scanned images.
I therefore replaced this with the Epson Perfection 39ll as it only operates of a single 5V USB supply thus avoiding the earlier V370 issues. I had also experienced faulty Power Pack on a V330 but this was to Epson's credit promptly replaced. Only down side to the new Epson 39ll is it has no 35 mm scanning feature otherwise an excellent portable scanner for most scanning applications.

It was unable to save my scan.
I was unable to save the scans. Kept getting the message, "Unable to save this image to the current location. Change the save location." I changed it many times but still got the same message so currently the product is unusable and unless this changes it will be returned tomorrow.

Poor Installation Instructions
Installing the scanner as per the instructions cost a lot of time. Using the host https://epson.sn as specified in the installation instructions supplied with the scanner resulted in the installation of software that would not connect to the scanner. The USB connection to the PC was done as per the installation software steps. After rebooting and trying a new USB cable in a known function USB port to ensure it was not the cable, still met with no success, decided to uninstall the software and start again after rebooting once again. This time used the Epson Australia site and installing the software through this portal resulted in a successful connection with the scanner. It is hard to be believe that EPSON could get it this wrong in instructing a user as to how to install the device.

The product so far seems it does not want to be installed and work!
Instructions seems to be missing a lot. Have spent over 2 hours trying to get it to work. I might have to ask for my money back.

Amazing scan quality
I haven't done any image scanning for a long, long time but this 'modern' scanner produces amazing results. Don't be put off by the low price! For the casual home user who doesn't require industrial amounts of scanning, it produces absolutely excellent single-page scanning up to slightly bigger (Letter Max) than A4 format.
Software is not complex and easy to get started with, but featured enough to give you a plenty of control over e.g. DPI, colour balance and output location/format, and different setting configurations can be saved. It's also extremely light & compact, is little bigger than A4 size, and is powered from the USB data cable itself - no plugs.
Further points: Scanning presumably isn't the fastest around: scanner is busy for 10-20 secs total - preview scan or final. The sound is a little 'grindy'. I haven't explored the OCR features the scanner supports. Note: It was a problem to install. I had to download the setup file from Epson NZ website to get it to be recognised as the setup file provided didn't work for me on either Windows 7 or Windows 10. The website version was presumably newer and resolves this issue.
Overall - for this user, the excellent image quality produced even for very large output size/DPI makes me extremely happy with my purchase.

Great Scanner
The Epson Perfection V39II Colour Photo and Document Scanner is a great all-rounder that I found quite user-friendly and reliable. Its compact size makes it easy to set up on my desk without taking up too much space. I appreciated the high-resolution scanning, which captured the details in my old photos and important documents very well.
The scanning process is straightforward, and the software is simple to navigate. I also liked that it could handle different types of media, from photos to fragile postcards, without any fuss. The speed is decent, so it didn't hold me up during larger scanning batches.
I had a little difficulty scanning black and white photos, but after changing the settings found scanning no problems.
Overall, I found it to be a practical, efficient, and cost-effective solution for digitizing my collection of photos and files, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable scanner that’s easy to use.

Excellent value
This is an excellent product for high quality, high res scanning. Was initially looking at purchasing the V850 pro but didn't need all of the features and settled on V3911 saving around $1,500. No regrets at all. We have scanned around 1,400 photos over the last week and this scanner have kept up with this workload easily.
