Rated 5 out of 5 by from Holds Five Pounds Just Fine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Command Hook, rated for five pounds, has two parts plus the adhesive attachment strip. The hook itself slides easily on and off the smaller part which is secured to the wall or door surface. I have found that the mounted hook holds firmly to a varnished wood door surface and does in fact hold five pounds weight. It turns out that a five pound bag of potatoes can be suspended from this hook and kept inside a cabinet or on the back of a pantry door. I am pleased with the product, and can agree that it works as claimed. I received this Command 3M sample for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I no longer trust this product In December I purchased these hooks for the purpose of hanging a lightweight canvas painting above our mantel. The canvas has a wood frame, but no glass. I used 2 of these large hooks. Monday night my husband and I awoke to a crash around 2:30 in the morning. One hook completely detached from the wall. The other hook broke in half. The painting landed on my 16 year old cat and broke her pelvis at the hind leg socket. I spent the rest of the night at the emergency vet and ultimately had to put my cat to sleep the same night. I feel I can no longer trust this product in my house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this 3M-Command Designer Large Hook as a free test sample; however, I was already sold on these hooks. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have 20-25 in use in my home, particularly in closets for hanging belts, my wife's handbags, hanging umbrellas, etc. This one is a little different because it's a bit more stylish. I hung this one in our laundry/mud room to catch beach bags as guests come in from the beach. It has a large weight capacity, and the plus is that it's just a little more attractive than the rest of my hooks. Forgive the pun, but I'm hooked!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice look! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] How lucky was I to receive this 3M Command Designer Large Hook as a free test sample! My husband was always less than thrilled when I would ask him to drill a hole to hang something. The beauty of this hook and others like it is that it is not permanent. When you decide to change the look, and re-use the hook elsewhere, there's no evidence of the hook on your unmarred wall. I hung this one in my master bathroom on the side of the cabinet to hold my hair dryer. The weight capacity of this hook accommodates the dryer easily. Now I will buy another for my curling iron!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps on Holding even the Toughest Jobs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Command Hooks are my favorite way to hang up my heavy duty items in my house. They are moveable, keep my paint looking fresh, and hold up to the job. The large designer hook is currently being used to hold my coat during the winter time when I am at work. I am not allowed to put holes in the wall so this is the perfect solution to keeping my area tidy, while also giving my coat a place to belong. The instructions are easy to follow, and you get an extra sticky in case you need to move the hook for any reason. Thank you 3m and Command for a sample of this product to use.

Not just with these hooks, but a variety of the Command products. Being organizationally-impaired, these Command stripes and hooks are a life saver. I put an assortment of them on an empty wall in my room and hung my designer hangbags on them. Not only did it save me a ton of space in my closet, but also allows my bags to be part of the room's decor. Irefuse to put any holes or damaging adhesives on my walls, but with the Command products I was FINALLY able to hang up a full length mirror as well. Can't wait to discover more uses for these inexpensive organizers. Get some and try it out yourself!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'd give less then 1 star if I could I bought different command products, tape and hooks. After 2 years a picture with fell. After three years, a picture with tape and hooks (2) fell. 4 years 2 pictures with tape and one hook, holding pot holders all fell. Frames broke and 1 frame that fell marked the wall. No I am not stupid, I bought the correct weight product for each hanging item. 3 m command stinks. It should state not to be used for years. Maybe just for holiday decoration or dorm rooms. I would rather use nails and will be changing from the tapes so I won't hear something falling and breaking again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from KILLED MY HOUSEPLANTS [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had bought a large package of these for use around my apartment. For the first few months they worked great.... until two night ago. I had hung up a mini hanging plant holder with about 6 small succulents in it. I had followed all of the instructions when hanging up the hook (including leaving it to sit without weight on it) and did not exceed the weight limit. Nevertheless, not even two months after having it up, the command strip had peeled in half somehow, sending my houseplants crashing to the ground. :( I don't trust these strips anymore. Don't use them if it's something you care about and don't want falling
