this product can get confused with micellar water, but it is compositionally different. micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. The idea is that micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin. Therefore, micellar water can be used as a facial wash, makeup remover and moisturizer all in one. This is why micellar water leaves a residue on your face. This cleansing water however is meant to be a cleanser that removes all impurities off the face. I use it as a toner post face wash since its ph balanced. one star off for added fragrance & high price.

In comparison to Sheseido Pureness this is terrible
I've been trying to chase down more of the pureness. I desperately want it brought back. This new "refreshing" is totally NOT! It has an underlying, stinky scent and a drying effect.

Does what it says..
Its okay. It gets most of my makeup off, about 90%. I dont use waterproof makeup, usually just an eyeliner, concealer and a little bit of eyeshadow. I had to use another oil-based cleanser to wipe my skin clean to follow up. No irritation though. Given the price point, I probably wouldnt purchase again.

Refreshing IS the PERFECT description!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Picture, wiping almost all of your toughest eyemakeup off in two to three swipes. I'm always amazed whenever I do it. When I first used this I almost wanted to slap on some more eyeliner just to see if it would work that well again. Mostly, I want to mention the refreshing aspect though. I live in FL and while humidity might be good for skin, it DOES make you feel gross and dirty all the time. Not to mention how much you sweat even on your face and neck. The only thing that used to be able to make me feel cleaner is when I'd wipe down with rubbing alcohol. While that used to be an okay solution while I was younger, at now 29 that's not going to work without the oil and collagen of youth. This cleanser is LIFESAVER! I not only have one at home for removing my makeup (which takes off water proof eyeliner and lipstain pretty easily) but, I always have another bottle in my car or bag so I can wipe off daily grime on my face and neck whenever I need to. It doesn't leave behind and weird film or stiff feeling. Plus unlike a lot of other cleansing waters this one smells ever so slightly like baby powder but, the smell wears off within a minute or two at most. If you want the amazing almost luxurious experience I would recommend getting the cotton pads from Shiseido as well. They are literally a crime fighting team against the pollutants on your skin. By the time you've wiped clean you really do feel refreshed!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my favorite night time ritual. This water with the Shiseido cotton pads and the makeup and daily toxins wipe away. My skin feels soft and ready for night moisturizer.

This product for the most part was just okay. I felt like I needed to pour alot of product on my face just to get a full face of makeup off. I would be okay with this product if the price was lower.

Exactly what it says!
I normally dont write reviews but have to say this stuff is worth it! It does exactly what it says by removing it all while being gentle on skin. I use this & the facial wash & my skin doesnt feel rough/red/dry AT ALL. I have sensitive skin and afraid to use new products because of this happening but nope not anymore completely satisfied and recommend as your routine!
