Rated 1 out of 5 by from BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL VERSION I have extremely sensitive skin for half of the year. I have been a dedicated user of the Avene Tolerance line for 7-8 years. It is the only thing that I can put on my skin. It has saved my skin more times than I can count, repaired my moisture barrier when nothing else could . For some reason, they changed their lines and have added more ingredients—-including CITRIC ACID in this specific product. I bought it to try it (not even realizing the ingredients changed) and immediately had a reaction. I am devastated.for those of you with sensitive skin, allergic skin, eczema, dry skin- you know what I mean!!! AVENE PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMULA

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for sensitive skin! The old formula was my HG moisturizer and it saved my dry and irritated skin. The new formula is terrible and I don’t know how you can market this for hyper sensitive skin. The new formula is not as thick and made my skin burn and turn red. You’re also getting less product. I had to switch to the Tolerence extreme cream, which is now out of stock. This is very frustrating as I can’t use any of your other products due to fragrance and other irritating ingredients.I wish you would make more products that are truly for sensitive/hyper sensitive skin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Waxy I Immediately Washed My Face I am so disappointed. This balm made my skin feel greasy and like it needed to be washed. Avene, please bring back the exact formula of Tolerance Extreme Cream. I used that every day for 4+ years. I was devastated to find it was discontinued, but was told to try Tolerance Control Skin Recovery Cream in its place. I was hoping it would be the same product with a different name. I tried that and it did not make my skin feel plump and full, like the Extreme Cream used to. I hoped that the Tolerance Control Skin Recovery Balm would be a substitute, so I tried that next. This balm is extremely waxy and greasy. As soon as I applied it, I felt the need to wash my face. I only return things that I know I will never use or recommend. I returned this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The Original Skin Recovery Cream was heaps better. This new replacement is so disappointing to the point that I’ve stopped using Avene. They discontinued an amazing formula and I cannot understand why. Does not moisturize like the original, the cetearyl alcohol irritates my skin and causes red bumps and patches, and it feels too slippy/slimy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Perfect Balm Finally, a perfect moisturizing balm by Avene made just for the face! After one use my angry skin is soothed: redness is gone, odd atopic dermatitis bumps gone, and I'm moisturized. This is a small tube with a somewhat pesky dispensing pump & I can see having to re-order this every two or three weeks but no worries, I am just happy Avene is offering this miracle balm. It absorbs quickly, is never sticky or tacky, never pills-up, and leaves a glowing matte finish. After 12 hours or more of application I still feel hydrated. I'm glad it is made just for the face for my legs & my face are two very different ecosystems! Thank you Avene!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my sensitive skin I love the cream version for under makeup, and I use the balm for evening and weekends. Especially great for sensitive eye area. Love that there is no scent at all!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please Bring Back Tolerance Extreme Cream I bought this since it was recommended as a replacement for Tolerance Extreme Cream, unfortunately this is nothing like it. It caused my skin to burn and it h after using it for a few days. I’m so disappointed. I would have used the Extreme Cream forever and now I’m left trying to find something that works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not really a balm When I think of a balm, I think of a really thick, dense, almost 'oily' or 'waxy' feeling product but this is more like a thicker cream. Maybe it is in the translation from French to English - like 'balm' has a different meaning there? I do love this as a moisturizer but I wouldn't call it a balm and I don't think it is helping with my skin barrier. I appreciate that there is no added fragrance, I love the packaging too. And it didn't sting my HYPER sensitive skin at all which is incredibly rare.
