Rated 5 out of 5 by Jessy from Enchanting, warm, flirty and inviting!! I am in love with JM fragrances, but none more than this one. If you love the warmth of the fading fall sun, the softness of poppies and the essence of rose, this is the fragrance! It reminds me of everything ethereal and beautiful about the changing of seasons. And the fragrance, though primarily soft, has a slight fruitiness to it. This fragrance is impressive, I can't wait to buy it again. I hope JM keeps this one for along time. I would also say it is in step with English Pear Freesia. Just a gorgeous scent!

It's sensual and seductive and gives off sexy without being overly sexual. It's perfect. I wish that it came in an oil as well for staying power. The scent does last all day but tends to dry down to a skin scent. By the end of the day I can still smell it and if someone is close enough they'll smell it, but it won't take over the room. If you're reading this review... you deserve this scent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Susie56 from Wonderful scent I wouldn't have thought of trying this but it came as a sample. My daughter and I both loved it and we have quite different taste in scent. I'm a Lime Basil and Mandarin girl with Orange Blossom in the summer and she's Peony and Blush Suede. This isn't like anything we'd either of us wear but she's already ordered hers and my order is going in tomorrow. It starts off lightly fruity and dries down to a lovely clean, fresh base. Without being able to pinpoint why, we both think it's a very summery smell. And it's very unusual. If you like a unique scent, this is for you.

I have tried a number of JM fragrances and for some reason, I always find that - despite loving it in the store - I start to quickly dislike it when wearing it 'in real life'. I have always been disappointed at how quickly they wear off too. This is the exception and boy, do I get a lot of compliments when I wear it! Even at the end of the day, when I can no longer smell it on myself, I've had numerous people comment on the smell and ask me what I'm wearing. I never tell them; it's my closely guarded secret! I find the fragrance difficult to explain. It's floral, but not sickly or girly. It's also cottony. Clean and feminine, almost like freshly washed linen. After decades of searching, I feel like I've finally found 'the one'.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Poppy from New found companion I am one who does not change easily. Nor do I try new things often. But I decided to try Poppy and Barley. This is unlike me to try a fragrance that I have not eve had the opportunity to sample. However, during Covid-19 I decided to try it. I was drawn to the name because Poppy is my nickname. I was also curious because I have worn and enjoyed another Poppy fragrance some years back. I a pleased to confess that I love this scent. The perkiness of it. It's light, sophisticated and makes me smile. It lightens my mood and enhances my day. I still absolutely still love my go to fragrance Velvet Rose & Oud, but it now has some competition. I wear fragrances that I love for my pleasure. But it is always nice to be complimented by others. I hope to see more options for Poppy & Barley. (Hint: Shower Gel, Oils and Candles) Thank you Jo Malone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Candice from Lady Galadriel probably smells like this. This scent is as gorgeous as it is unique, but the longevity is awful. I am fully aware that colognes offer the lowest concentration of fragrance, though at this price point I expect more than 15-20 minutes of pure bliss. Also, it would be so beneficial for Jo Malone to offer a wider variety of samples, or even a custom sample set option for those who want to try other fragrances. It's always the same few "bestsellers" offered at checkout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Harri from Fell in love Love, love, love this scent. It is me to the core. My mood is elevated each time I wear it. Poppy and barley is so fresh and clean-just feminine. I feel like a girl. Please give us a cream. I tried the pear cream as a layering experiment and was very disappointed. It changed what I enjoy about the fragrance and became something else entirely. Lotion, oil, cream- something, please. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Fifi100 from Beautiful. I received this for a gift at Christmas. Given it is floral it isn't one I would have even sniffed if shopping for myself. I usually go for muskier/woodier ones. Wow - This is just divine!! My favorite perfume at the minute. Comforting, warm, but fresh at the same time. It lasts well on my skin but doesn't give me a headache like some perfumes do. Not sickly floral either. I will be re purchasing for sure!
