Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good blend of fragrances and is long lasting [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never tried fragrances from Penhaligon's before and I find that I am pleasantly impressed. Now I am no expert in fragrances but I definitely pick up subtle tones of spice, cedar, and lavender as well as something sweet that I cannot quite place. Overall the different tones complement each other and no single fragrance overpowers another. To me the fragrance is not so strong as to make it unpleasant yet is long lasting! In the office I received nothing but compliments and of course it passed the wife test as she places it as one of her favorites. Well worth wearing in the future, even with the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Tragedy of Lord George Eau de Parfum [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Tragedy of Lord George Eau de Parfum (Sample Size 1.5ml) from Penhaligon’s arrived at my house and was given to a very special young man who wears men’s fragrances daily. This men’s fragrance combines a warm and woodsy, vanilla scent that is both sweet and spicy! It came in a sample, 1.5 mil size, that will likely give him about 15 sprays, and will last him about a week. After using The Tragedy of Lord George Eau de Parfum just one time, he is already requesting that this be on his “wish list” for the next upcoming gift giving occasion. This has an excellent fragrance that any man, young or old, would love to wear!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No for me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok so, I know each person has body oils/odors that effect how a scent smells on a person. This scent did not smell good at all on me. It was very musky and almost had a powdery senior citizen smell to it, if that makes sense. My partner, however, tried it as well and it wasn't so bad on them compared to myself. I definitely think this is something I recommend trying on in person to really see how it will react to your natural oils, I feel that makes a difference in how you will smell it. Don't take it from me, try for yourself! Definitely interesting smelling.

Heard about this brand before but I don’t have a piece and I haven’t smelled it yet. This smelling was love at the first sniff. I know it’s made for men but I have to admit, it would not bother me to wear it. The notes are: woody; amber; vanilla; warm spicy and sweet. When you smell it, it gives you a 19th century gentleman’s club vibe. It’s luxurious and sophisticated, very unique scent. To buy a big, 3.4oz bottle, not a question because it’s super expensive. If it would be more affordable, I would buy it in a heartbeat!

I normally use two sprays of product when I go out and this Parfum held up just fine using that same amount. My wife said it was not overpowering and was a very pleasant smell. The product is described as having fragrances that remind you of shaving soap, brandy, and Tonka beans. I can definitely relate that description to what I experienced. I would be confident in recommending this Parfum to anyone who enjoys these scents or wants to try something new.

He tends to enjoy cedar and musky scents. He was not a fan. In my opinion, I did enjoy the scent on him. I don't think it smells as pungent as incense, but it does have a light floral lavender smell. I am not a fan of cologne in general. I feel they tend to be pungent and have common scents that are labeled as "manly". I enjoyed that this parfum is light, so it is perfect for everyday wear. I would say I prefer this scent over the many men's deodorant, body wash or cologne scents.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't smell like soap or rum to me [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really looking forward to trying this Lord George Eau de Parfum. It was described as smelling of warm soap and rum. I didn't appreciate even a subtle hint of either and was quite disappointed. The scent seems pretty generic to me- I can't even pick a high note or undertone. It doesn't project well or for long. If you're looking for ab everyday scent that doesn't make you stand out from the crowd in any setting, this is probably a solid choice. I would not consider it for a signature scent or for an upscale night out, but it's perfectly adequate.
