Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not all posts are sisal, brackets too short Only three of the five post sections have sisal wrapping. The other two are plush. This was not clear in the description, and is not entirely satisfactory in an item described as a "scratching post". In addition, the supplied brackets, which are essential for safely anchoring the post to a wall, are too short for any home that has skirting boards (ie, most of them). The central post sits on a flat baseboard. In a home with skirting boards at the junction of floor and wall, this baseboard will be have to be placed against the skirting board, not flush against the wall. The other boards are pre-drilled so that they line up with the baseboard, so they will not be flush against the wall, either. The brackets have an adjustment slot but even when extended as far out as the slot allows, they sit just in line with the edge of the top shelf. Since all the shelves sit out from the wall by the width of the skirting board, the brackets are too short - they need to be long enough to extend a centimetre or two beyond the edge of the shelf. I sat the baseboard up on legs so that it could rest against the wall above the skirting board, but this is more trouble than many people might wish to go to. It was certainly more effort than I had in mind.
