Decent sound
I bought it for my 8 year old daughter after seeing the new smoky pink release promotion during Singapore holiday in late September. I wanted something with ANC and durable so I picked this. She is bit too young to use the app but I set it up for her. She uses the gesture mode for volume control and track navigation quite well. I like the talk function and awareness gesture for hearing.
I tested the sound quality and it seems decent without the need for equalizer. The separation of the frequency could be better but good for its class. In terms of the design It is light and comfortable to wear. I wish it folds smaller. The box is bulky as a result.
Also I find it to be hot after wearing the headphones for more than 30 mins and I am in mild Melbourne spring weather.

So friggin comfortable to wear. Especially for us glasses wearers. The cups don't pinch my glasses arms, but also still operating very well in noise cancelling and sound quality.

The headphones are amazing and I use them for international travel where they provide awesome sound, and a block for the hum of the airplane and all the noise that goes with it.
On the downside, the service experience with Sony has been atrocious. After using these just a few times, the case zip broke so I contacted Sony for a repair or replacement. Having been ignored after initial responses, and then assured via chat this would be escalated to the team, three months later and many emails into the void, still no repair or replacement. These are expensive headphones, Sony is pitched as a quality brand. The case was faulty and this is an easy fix, but the lack of service has been incredible. This was also the deciding factor in my recent purchase of another brand for my partner. Despite knowing I was buying a less fabulous product, I knew I could count on the service.

Wow I thought the XM4’s were good but the XM5’s are even better
Better noise cancelling, better fit around the ears, the cushions feel even better quality sound is fantastic, the battery is blowing my mind and I am a heavy user and I easily get 30+ hours
