Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Headphones Ever These were bought by my wife as a surprise gift to replace my ageing WH 1000 XM3 headphones which still look & perform flawlessly after a few years of excellent service. The first improvement I noticed was the hard carry case, the magnetic clasp minus the zip is a great idea, I alsolike the foldable design Sony have gone back to, definitely a plus. Audio quality is just as I expected from Sony, noise cancelling just gets better, hearing music is taken to the next level. We do a lot of long distance coach & train travel & this where noise cancelling with Sony headphones excels, all ambient noise in removed easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astonishing Over the moon with these headphones, i had the xm4 but the hinge broke on the one side which seemed to be a fatal flaw, this has been remedied and then some with the xm6 with a hugly robust solution. The sound quality is second to none and the features and un may hed by any product. The price as well is extremely good for what you get compared to apple, steinhauser, bose, beats. Sony has trumped them all with this product. No thank Sound quality- 50/10 Usability with the cup functions - 10/10 Ease of use - 10/10 App to use with it - 6/10 (only gripe seems dated) Other than that i applaud you sony you have earned my repeated custom and money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For those prioritizing value and already-excellent performance, the Sony WH-1000XM5 remains a compelling choice over its successor, the XM6. While the XM6 introduces a welcome foldable design and slightly enhanced noise cancellation, the XM5 still delivers industry-leading ANC and superb audio quality that, for many, is more than sufficient. Given the XM5's now lower price point, the incremental improvements in the XM6 may not justify the significant cost difference, especially if the non-folding design was never a major deterrent or if the slightly firmer clamping force of the XM6 is a concern. The XM5 provides a mature and highly capable experience that continues to hold its own against the latest flagship, offering fantastic noise-cancelling and comfort at a more accessible price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The WH-1000XM6 has a really easy to use touch control system, with a simple swipe I can adjust the volume or change tracks. It's surprising how smooth and seamless it all is especially for someone like myself. Forward swipe skip to the next track, backward swipe skip to the last track, swipe up to increase volume and so on easy. I nice little feature as well is if you remove the headphones the play pauses automatically. Very comfortable and an elegant carry case. The music quality is what you expect from Sony. Quite a lot of thought has gone in to these headphones, very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding I have only just purchased these to replace my WH1000XM3, I decided previously that the XM4 was not a massive improvement and that they XM5 was actually a backward step when it came to comfort and portabilty, the XM6 is next level, the sound quality is lovely with rich bass and great tone, they are not an extremely high end audiophile headphone but they are close as you will get at the price point, I also tries the Sonos and the Apple AirPods Max (I am in the Apple ecosystem) but kept coming back to the XM6 they are even more comfortable that the XM3, the ear cups are so comfortable and I have been wearing them most of the day with no fatigue, the addition of a proper power button is a real benefit as well. the new ear cup design with the slight angle makes them seat even better and the fact they can be folded again is such a benefit, and the new case with the magnetic open/close is excellent.

Having been a long term Bose customer who needed to upgrade their headphones, my natural upgrade would've been the new Quiet Comfort Ultra gen. 2 headphones. But the reviews I read about the Sony WH-1000XM6 made for a compelling brand switch. And I'm really pleased I did. The sound quality is superb, they're easy to use, have a great app that allows for more advanced graphic equaliser adjustments (compared to Bose), and the understated design suites me much better than the blingy look the Bose headphone offer. And of course the price was much keener too, representing considerably better value for money, and the ANC is really very good.
