I used it all over my house, and the sound quality is amazing. i really enjoy how it has the option to adjust the tremble and bass adjusting it to each song. Also the new technology of having it connect to the wifi and play music its own with out even having it to connect to my phone JBL did and absolutely OUTSTANDING job bringing us. A speaker than provides and absolutely astonishing look with a great sound quality with all the new technology on it!!

Its sharp look & modern design is not only classy but nostalgic. The vintage style knobs illuminate as they are dialed up. The trebile and bass knobs also glow when being adjusted. The sound quality is rich and has an unimaginable volume capacity. Full of crisp sound, the bass if desired can be added at full force & not be overwhelming. It is very easy to customize sound to the user's enjoyment. Even at a lower volume setting, one's listening experience is exceptional. While using this speaker your music is elevated similar to that of a music studio.

I put the authentics 500 in my living room and the looks are astonishing. The feel of this speaker is awesome! The sound quality is superb. If you use the JBL app it is great with this speaker. The bass and treble are great on this speaker. The only drawback I have and the reason I did not give 5 stars is because you have to have it plugged in. Makes moving it around a pain. Setting up this speaker is simple and to be able to use both google and alexia is awesome. I would highly recommend this speaker for anyone!

I didn't notice that there is a huge subwoofer on the bottom of this machine, my entire 2 story home is easily accommodated by one speaker?? Beautiful design, the outside skin of the case is sleek, and looks elegant, feels nice to the touch. The individual bass and treble dails are nice, along with their digital feedback via LED lights, but i just went ahead and turned both to max - just how i like. look, this reminds me of being a kid riding with a subwoofer in my car. except in my living room. thanks for this awesome speaker JBL

The Authentics 500 is one of those rare speakers you get excited to listen to, time and time again. With a retro heritage style, adorned with leatherette, thick foam and futuristic knobs, the JBL is an ode to speakers past with high end modern components. The 500 is by far my favorite compact audio solution for high quality music listening, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi streaming and 3.1 home audio. It is simply fantastic! The Authentics 500 is a beast of a speaker, with mind blowing sound quality and a powerful presence. The JBL has subtle crystalline highs, forward clean mids and deep liquid bass, so it should please the listener with it’s warm vintage sound. With the high and low knobs, plus the in-app EQ, users can dial in the neutral frequency to ones listening taste. Though I do wish with the volume steps would be tighter and the EQ had presets and a larger band of adjustment. Other than that, I am absolutely floored by the sound quality of the 500, which sounds twice as good as the price point of the speaker. The JBL is perfect for easy listening under 50% and is a literal powerhouse above that threshold. The other incredible feature of the JBL Authentics is its ease of use. Compared to other Wi-Fi sound systems, this one adapts to audio input on the fly, allowing for multiple sources to toggle the sound back and forth seamlessly. Whether it is a voice assistant, Bluetooth or direct aux audio, the playback remains flawless without any detectible artifacts, beeps or blips. The automatic sound adjustment for different locations seems to work well, so long as the listener is mindful about the positioning of the unit. The Authentics is a truly simple sound system that allows for total mechanical control vs in app constraints, allowing for a wonderful user experience. All in all, the JBL Authentics 500 is the compact audio system that I have been waiting for, with amazing sound, sleek looks and intuitive features. There is really nothing I would change, other than the above mentioned, as the speaker does nearly everything right. If you are either looking for a single room speaker for your home or want this as your primary sound system, it will work great either way. With enough power and volume for parties or a beautiful low volume for easy listening, the JBL knocks it out of the park. I believe this may be the best audiophile speaker out there for the price and would love to try the JBL Authentics 300 to complement its larger counterpart. This is easily a 9/10 speaker and with some tweaks on the app, JBL may have created the perfect speaker system for anyone wanting the vintage look, compact size and true Hi-Fi sound!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Delighted I've been using this as part of a set up for my bedroom, along with a JBL Spinner turntable. It sounds so great I'm positive it outperforms most people's main system in their living room. The sound is rich and full, the bass in particular is excellent, but the treble sounds great too. This speaker really has a lot of power, I think I may like it more than my neighbours! I really like the fact that it's Bluetooth too, so I can easily move it round the house or in the garden for parties, without having to mess about with cables. I'm absolutely delighted with my speaker and I would wholeheartedly recommend this product!

Can I use the 500 as a TV soundbar?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Authentic 500 can connect to a TV via Bluetooth or an aux cable, it is not optimized to function as a dedicated soundbar. Soundbars are specially designed for home theater audio with features like multiple drivers, and advanced audio decoding. Our Authentic 500 offers excellent audio quality for music and general use. However, it lacks some of the key features that enhance the TV viewing experience.

Can I connect a charge 4 to authnic 500

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Authentics 500 can't be connected with a JBL Charge 4 as both speakers have different features. The JBL Authentics 500 uses its built-in Wi-Fi feature to connect with other speakers that have Chromecast, AirPlay, and Alexa MRM via speaker grouping over the same home network. Meanwhile, the JBL Charge 4 has a Connect+ that lets you connect to another speaker with the same feature, such as the JBL Flip 4, JBL Xtreme 2, or the JBL Pulse 3.
