Rated 5 out of 5 by from SMALL COMPACT SPEAKER WITH A BIG PUNCH! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Clip 5 is a truly amazing small compact speaker with a big punch. The JBL Clip 5 connected very easily via bluetooth and using the JBL portable app, you can now customize your EQ and connect multi-speakers. The sound is very clear with a balanced highs and a nice punchy bass. It has an IP67 waterproof rating, and I have used it in the shower. I can honestly say it's waterproof. I like the big clip on it, so it hooks securely to my backpack. The the power and controls are easy to push. JBL has gone another level with this small compact speaker. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'll give it a 9 rating for sound, convenience, and portability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small Speaker Packs A Powerful Punch [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks can definitely be deceiving!! This small speaker has tremendous range and remains clear and crisp at high levels with a good bass sound and treble. It is easy to use and simple with the big buttons on the side and front and it pairs seamlessly with devices. It is stylish and even lightweight for its small size and it seems like the battery lasts for ever. And with an IP67 rating you can throw it in the pool no problem. Truly a great all round speaker for any setting or occasion on the go just clip it and go!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better sound, flawed improvements Not a bad speaker, definitely an improvement in sound compared to the clip 4. Has new/updated features like a bigger carabiner, but the quality of the carabiner is worse than the clip 4. They used a longer thinner piece of rubber that’s really flimsy, mine pretty much already ripped off. The rubber ridges on the back are an improvement! Wider pieces that sit in a recess The metal around the speaker has this coating that scratches off really easy, so beware of chipping. Can’t say the design is improved, but the sound definitely has.

With a nice design and easy-to-use controls, it is perfect for on-the-go listening. The speaker offers a rich and clear sound that is great for me for both music and podcasts. However, one downside to the JBL is its battery life. Compared to other speakers of similar size, the battery of the JBL clip 5 does not last as long. This could be a drawback for those who require longer playback times without access to a power source. I had to keep this in mind when using this speaker for extended use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features and perfect for outdoors! What an amazing product. The lightweight speaker can fit anywhere securely with the durable clip feature. I found this particularly useful for outdoor adventures. The dustproof/waterproof feature was also useful for gardening as I really like to listen to the radio. The battery life is excellent, I've only had to charge it once since receiving the product and I have used it for several hours. It does not overheat and is durable enough that if you drop it it doesn't damage the speaker. Bluetooth connection is easy to set up, within minutes I was listening to my favourite songs through YouTube, radio, Spotify etc. Overall a great product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from does not last 3 hours now great speaker BUT .. i use this primarily outside attached to my golf bag to listen to tunes while playing .. initially it was good battery lasted whole round 4-5 hours. i always charge it after each round .. but after the 3rd round now it will not last past 2 hours.. it is cold out but i cant see why this is not lasting at least 3 hours in cold weather. I was contemplating using it clipped to my backpack for skiing but looks like that wont work . how is it that this is advertised as a up to 12 hours speaks when it cants last 2-3 hours outside?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unimpressed Stereo Sound with Two I bought another one of these and was fairly impressed with the sound quality and size of the speaker. I was enticed with the idea that you could pair two of them and get stereo sound, so I went ahead and ordered this one. The size of the room could add into some of the poorer stereo sound , not sure but thought I should add that in. I have them set about 20' apart in my 25' x 36'L garage, and I seem to lose some of the stereo effect. I haven't tried playing around with the JBL app on my phone to see if the equalizer will make any difference, but this was my initial thoughts, I was hoping to be blown away with my new speakers and can't say that I am.

I love how this was designed with a clip on hook. This speaker is water proof and super durable. Very easy to clean if anything gets on it. It’s definitely got a lil weight to it, which is great. This little speaker is small but mighty. I can easily take it anywhere with me. I’ve been traveling between my boyfriend’s house and my house and I always want to have a speaker with me in the bathroom so this made my life sooo much easier. It doesn’t take up space and it sounds phenomenal. This speaker is great for everyone whether for travel or to have in the house.

Can I use this in the shower?

Thanks for your question. Yes, you can use our JBL Clip 5 in the shower. It has an IP67 rating, making it dustproof and capable of being submerged in 1m of water for 30 minutes. Please make sure that the unit is completely dry before charging it. Also, please note that the Maximum Operation Temperature of it is 45 degrees Celsius.

Can the speaker stand on its own on a flat surface? Or must it be clipped to something?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Clip 5 can not stand upright on its own as it doesn't have a flat surface base, it is designed to be clipped or laid flat when placed on a table.

Can I use 2 of them as rear surround speakers for my LG TV of 2025 with Auracast and can they stay connected with the mains through usbc all the time?

Thanks for your question. Yes, our JBL Clip 5 can remain connected to a power outlet via USB‑C for charging, but while it can form a stereo pair through Auracast using the JBL Portable app, this feature only works when paired with a phone or tablet, since the app is not available for TVs. So, even though our Clip 5 can connect to your LG TV via Bluetooth, you won’t be able to stereo pair them directly through the TV.

How close does it need to be near your Bluetooth device to stay connected?
