I mean it really sounded like a bigger speaker so much, I questioned the purpose of the bigger bluetooth speakers. Its omni directional sound was so good, you don’t have to point it in any specific direction. The app functionality if great and useful. To top it off is the very cool light bar on the back that looks like liquid and can change any color on beat. I can literally take it anywhere, you name it. JBL is professional grade in this arena. I mean if you look at the price compared to value and quality, it’s a no brainer. Always look for JBL…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Quality Bought a JBL Grip a few weeks ago and I’ve been very happy with the sound quality and battery life. The volume range is great too - whisper quiet to loud enough for parties. Keep in mind that the USB-C charging cable is not included - I didn’t realize when I purchased it (not a big deal if you already have a USB-C laying around). Overall very happy with it and I’m considering buying another to test out the speaker synching feature.

Its size is small, but the sound quality is just as good as my Party Box and the lights are a nice addition, especially for evening use outside. While I didn’t test submerged in water, a dog bowl of water spilled on it and no impact on the speaker or the dog. Wireless Bluetooth easy to connect and easy to use for those of us who are not techies. The charge lasted for hours longer than we did. Big quality sound from a small speaker,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loud & Powerful With a size of a 12oz can of energy drink, this little bluetooth speaker packs a serious PUNCH 👊🔊🎶🎵🎼 & without reading into the specs, I swear there's a subwoofer built-in - very loud & punchy bass, rattled the countertop I placed it on! At less than 50% volume, this beast can fill up a small bedroom & heck even a kitchen or living room! Its companion app is pretty intuitive & upon receipt when connected to my phone, it did prompt me to install a software update to the speaker. In the app, there are options for the light's color selections & strobing effects, or you can completely shut it off. Preset EQ selections are available in the app as well as an option to customize. There's a physical button to cycle through the light function in case you don't have your phone/app readily available. The size & shape is uber portable, fits right in my backpack's side pocket where water bottles & compact umbrellas go (see pic). Does not come with a usb-a to usb-c cable, just the speaker itself. This could very well be my go-to bluetooth speaker with a battery life advertised at +/-14 hours, easy to transport & brings the party!!!

Everything was okay the first few days and it had paint scratched off of it from a it taking a short fall off the coffee table. I noticed it doesn’t have 12 full hours of play time like it claims.Then by week two the button responses became delayed and my Bluetooth would take upwards of 30 seconds to chime and connect. Ultimately after troubleshooting and trying to reset it it dies completely and would not turn on or charge. I fear it was a faulty product and hope that was the case. I’m a long time JBL customer and this is the first time I was unhappy. Hopefully my replacement is better

But this one is special to me, because it’s my angel fur baby picture . Having his picture on my speaker, has a special meaning in my heart. I call my speaker name DJ Coconut 🤍 Also I can tell my speakers from another, because mines is customized Thanks so much again for customizing and personalizing speakers!!!!

Can I connect it simultaneously with the other versions like the flip 5 and 6?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Grip and JBL Flip 5 and 6 can not be paired together as they use different wireless connections. Our Grip features Auracast, while our Flip 5 and 6 use JBL PartyBoost. These two systems are not compatible, meaning you won’t be able to link the speakers for synchronized playback. To connect multiple JBL speakers, they must support the same pairing protocol.

Does it have multipoint, connect to 2 devices at the same time?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Grip does not support multipoint connection, so it can not connect to two devices at the same time. However, it does support multi-speaker connection through Auracast, which allows you to connect two or more JBL Grip speakers or other JBL Auracast-enabled speakers together.

Can the Grip group with non JBL speakers that support true Auracast?

Thanks for your question. Our Auracast-enabled speakers are currently intended to be able to receive Auracast signals from other Harman products. While they may be able to connect to non-Harman products, we can't guarantee full compatibility.
