Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Home Espresso Machine We’ve Owned We have owned a Breville Barista Express for 6 years, and it is still going strong. Used multiple times a day for everything from Lattes to Short Blacks to Baby Cinos, it never skips a beat. I’ve worked as a barista and this machine really does rival the product made by a commercial machine (provided you’re using quality beans and milk). We recommend this product to every one we know who’s in the market for a new home coffee machine. There are now four members of our immediate family with one of these at the heart of their kitchen. We love it and wouldn’t hesitate to buy the same machine again when this one decides to quit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ever I was fortunate to receive as a gift from a generous offspring, and now it is easily one of my favourite things during this lockdown. The machine performs brilliantly and makes the best coffee in town. I mostly drink espresso, so I really appreciate the highly adjustable grind settings. The pressure gauge for the extraction is excellent. All in all, grind and extraction can be tuned against the bean type. Plus, it is extremely convenient. The cap on the bean holder is pretty tight, so keeps the beans moderately fresh for a few days. Load up enough beans for a number of days, then make an A grade coffee in a matter of seconds between virtual conferences.

I ended up buying two machines, giving one as a wedding present, I was that impressed with it. Just take the time to get the grind/coffee settings right, once they are set, you will never look back. Save a fortune taking a pre made coffee to work. Very straight forward to use and clean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Just does not produce anything drinkable I've had this machine for about 2 weeks and am about to throw it out the window. I have gone through all the videos, all the instructions, changed grind, dose, tamping pressure, conical burrs, you name it! The pressure wont rise above 3 when making espresso, the puck is always wet. I've gone through almost 1 kg of beans, by changing just one setting each time and retrying as advised. I've had nice coffee manually grinding those same beans and using french press and percolator, so nothing wrong with the beans. Pressure gauge does go into the correct range when using the rubber filter only, so I know the machine SHOULD work. It does look beautiful in my kitchen though ;)

Makes great coffee, although did take a little while to get the hang of it (make sure you use fresh beans). I had it repaired once under warranty without any fuss. It sometimes leaks water underneath but I think this is due to not having the water tray positioned right. Otherwise a great machine.
