Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW - Great Coffee Machine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was shocked with how easy it was to setup and get started. It tells you if the beans are fine or course, milk frother you can use manually or use the auto and the machine does it for you. I’ve never actually owned a coffee machine, I was using a percolator. I was a bit nervous at first but the Delonghi coffee machine tells you step by step what to do, so perfect for dummies like me. Even my 3 teenage boys find it easy to make their Cold brew and Cappaccinos. I would recommend the Delonghi La Specialista Touch to anyone looking for a great coffee machine

Super simple, the machine tells you what to do each step. Excellent range of coffees and the To Go option saved me so much money already. I had to descale once and that was super easy to do too. The cold drink options was used a lot the last summer and my partner loved the iced coffees he got. If I could improve one thing it's probably the coffee temperature in winter. Summer time it was great but prefer a hotter temperature in winter. Overall very happy with my purchase.

I upgraded from a pod machine to this and will never go back. Coffee tastes as good as the cafe ones and it's really easy to use (once you set up your beans in the settings and get that right). The only reason it's a 4 star not 5, is because when setting up the beans, it can take a while and the grind starts at 7 and only let's you go up 1 at a time - both brands I have used are 11 grind so it took 5 x times to get to the correct setting. Then you save that setting and don't have to do it again. But it also makes me not want to change beans too often and have to do that each time.

Creating a lush thick foam is super easy as you can set it to automatic and the wand does it all itself without having to hold the jug! Set up seemed a little daunting at first but when I discovered the power button on the side and the screen turned on, I was visually guided through set up and even able to find the perfect setting for my chosen coffee beans. I believe this to be the closest you can get to barista made coffee at home! I love that it also can create the perfect cold brew which I believe to be unique to a machine like this. The machine looks sleek and attractive and will proudly sit on my bench.

This is a fantastic machine for those wanting a proper espresso style coffees at home, such as espresso, macchiato, cortado, latte, flat white and cappuccino. It is super easy to use with a simple guidance displayed on the touch screen. Using a Bean Adapt feature guides you in setting up your beans from the correct grind size/time and tamping to setting the right temperature and pre-infusion. Once set up (which tooks about 3 tries) the espresso came out very creamy with a golden crema. The automatic frothing allows to set different levels of froth as well as temperature. The frother also includes separate settings between dairy and plant based milks. I have to admit that so far the automatic frothing has not produced great milk - rather okayish, and I will keep playing with the position and quantity to improve the microfoam. However, once you practice a bit with a manual frother (which has integrated thermometer) the machine produces super silky milk that’s good enough for latte art. I was genuinely surprised with a quality of the drink in the end which is better than what I would get from the most cafes around Melbourne. In addition to espressos, the machine makes long blacks / americano style coffee. Lastly, the machine can also make cold brew / cold extraction style coffee which is suprisingly nice. You can also design your own coffee and save it as yours. While machine does a lot of things automatically, it allows for fine tuning of the grind, pre-infusion, temperature etc… which is great for those that want to explore the effects of changing these settings. As with any manual coffee machine - make sure you use as fresh coffee beans as possible. Supermarket ones give below average results but this has nothing to do with a machine itself. Some negatives include inability to remove bean hopper in case it gets stuck. Also, the automatic milk frothing didn’t produce silky smooth milk - but this could also be due to milk which can vary throughout the year which can impact the quality of frothing. Overall, at this price point, La Specialista Touch is a fantastic entry level machine that will allow majority of people to make great coffee at home thanks to easy to use / great guidance on the touch screen. While a proper boiler / water pump machines would make even better coffee these would come at much higher price point (3, 4, 5x time over) but not making 3, 4, 5x better coffee.

Very pleased with all aspects of machine operation and the quality of cafe comparable (exceeding some cafes) product produced. Just hoping machine stays operational for years to come, and the only recommendations I could give are longer warranties to provide peace of mind regarding durability, and a feature to have interchangeable bean hops (like the Ninja cafe machine) would make this the perfect product.
