Rated 4 out of 5 by from No proper User Manual!!OMGG / Steam&Grill function I am an air fryer LOVER!! I just bought this product. But there is no proper user manual in the box!! I dont even know what does the symbol on the machine mean.... There is no explanation for any errors' situations. It is a big mistake that shouldn't happen ever, especially for Philip, such a famous and functional brand!!.Please updated the further USER MANUAL on this page! For the steam function, obviously, this machine is not designed only for steaming. The steam function is a bit weaker than a proper steamer. The steam function is still working, just taking double the time it would take to use a steamer. And the STEAM CLEAN function is below my expectations as it cant really clean the machine well. However, TO BE HONEST, the grilled function is fantastic!! It is quicker than my previous air fryer, which saves me time. More importantly, I do not need to flip the food, which is very handy!! But the downside is that I can't use aluminum foil, and I need to wash the basket every time after use.

Having the air fryer function and steaming function all in the same product makes cooking meals for a family so simple. When cooking chicken drumsticks and vegetables my only complaint would have been that the left side needs to be slightly bigger or the steamer function be made available in both baskets as the vegetables had to take the larger basket for the steamer function. Everything was easy to cook. The machine itself is ridiculously quiet compared to other models which is great.

The auto-adjust feature allows both compartments to finish at the same time, ensuring meals are served hot and evenly. Parts are removable and dishwasher safe, saving time and effort. The ability to steam and air fry at the same time is a game changer for my cooking routine. One downside is that it requires a bit more washing compared to a regular air fryer, but it’s a small trade-off considering how much it reduces cooking time overall. I do wish the baskets had a ceramic coating or were made of stainless steel instead of the current coating. The cooking results for both air frying and steaming are excellent. The HomeID app is also available to download to give you recipe ideas and a base guideline for using the appliance. I tried to cook several dishes from steamed vegetables, hard-boiled eggs, dumplings, and even rice that can be cooked in this appliance. Using the recipe from the app as a guide for temperature and timing helps me to get that perfect steamed vegetables, easy-to-peel-boiled eggs, and fluffy rice. However, some recipes require a specific attachment that is not included in the standard package; therefore, you need to obtain one or be creative by using what you have at home. Printed detailed product manuals however not included in the box, you need to download one or get it from the app. For some people maybe it is a bit difficult to read the manuals that is not printed. Overall, I am satisfied with this product.

Is this product is PTFE and PFoe free?

Thanks for your question Leah. This does use a Teflon as a non-stick component for this model air-fryer, which is a PTFE. We can confirm no PFOA is used, and has been phased out of Teflon production. Hope this helps! ^CO

Hi Leah, The Philips 5000 Series Dual Basket XXL 9L Air Fryer with Steamer has a non-stick coating. Philips products are PFOA-free, but this model may still contain PTFE, which is commonly used in non-stick cookware.
