Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fast boiling I bought this kettle a month ago based on the reviews and also the fact that I owned a much older model that I was really happy with. This kettle is very smart looking and it boils quickly. However it is much louder than our older model which is really disappointing. I would not say this is a quiet kettle. The most annoying thing about this model is you have to press the on button twice for it to boil. If you're unaware of this it is really frustrating the amount of times you think you've turned it on and you haven't. Don't waste your money on this expensive kettle its not worth it. I wish the reviews had been more honest as I wouldn't have bought this kettle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A quiet kettle which is easy to pout This is a significant upgrade on the regular Smart Kettle, if only for the way this kettle pours. It's really nice to be able to pour something so easily after struggling with the less well-designed shape of the cylindrical kettle for years. There's just something nice about being able to pour the water out easily. It's also quieter than the Smart Kettle, with less beeping. The handle also feels stronger compared to the other kettle, which made me worry about whether the handle would eventually break, as it felt a bit fragile when the kettle was full. The Luxe feels steady as a rock to pick up and use, even when full. The only down side is that you have to press the button twice to boil the kettle, rather than just once, if you haven't already woken up the control panel. I'd certainly buy that again over the regular version, just for the pour!

We had a similar kettle from a different brand which we used to love & when it stopped working, couldn't;t justify the price of replacement, so went with a regular kettle, which lasted around 5 years. When it came to replacing it, I really missed the ease of setting our old kettle to lower than 100 degrees & when I found this revile one on sale, I couldn't resist. Still expensive, but after only a couple of weeks, so very worthwhile. And I now justify the price thinking about the electricity savings over the years ahead !!! Such a great purchase & with a really substantial / high quality "feel" about it too..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Difficult to control pouring rate For the money they're charging for this kettle you'd think they'd be able to get the spout right. It's ok as long as it's full, but if you've only got a small amount of water in the kettle it seems to have only two modes: trickle out uselessly or else come gushing out and overflow whatever you're pouring into. Today it seems to have a developed a new feature... the lid is rattling as the kettle boils making it very noisy. Hopefully it was just a one-off but if not I think I'll be returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect kettle DOES exist Excellent kettle, boils very quickly and quietly, and it looks fantastic. The only sound it makes is a single moderately loud beep when it's finished heating the water to your selected temp. It remembers the last temp option you heated to, which is very useful when you require sterile cooled boiled water but you mostly use the coffee (95°c) setting. Everything feels very well constructed so I'm hopeful this will last us many years. One thing to note is that it is quite heavy, which could be an issue for some users.

Smooth opening lid and nicely shaped handle giving excellent balance and feel. Controls are easy to see and operate. An attractive addition to the kitchen.
