Plastic taste
This kettle caused water to taste like what I can only describe as plastic. This taste was present for two months after which I tried to return it. The retailer, HN, refused to give me a refund or provide me with an alternative. The item is is advertised as 'BPA free' but it does have a plastic window for checking the water level inside the chamber.
The kettle is heavy, loud, and over boils water for at least a few seconds. I am very surprised by all the good reviews. This is the worst kettle I've used for a long time. I'd recommend getting one that is all glass or steel with no plastic inside the water chamber.

Not a review of the product, more of the customer service experience. I was sent a bum tracking link and struggled with the Harvey Norman online customer support. Cheers to the crew at the Palmerston North shop who were much more helpful and responsive. I won’t be shopping at Harvey Norman online again, but I’m happy to give my business to local stores.

Just in time for a relaxing cuppa!
This was a replacement kettle so we were familiar with its features and performance. We would however like to congratulate the staff at Harvey Norman for the fret-free purchase and the rapid delivery. Given the fact it was purchased during the Christmas Period I would describe Harvey Norman's response as outstanding. Thanks to everyone involved!

Breville the Soft Top Luxe 1.7L Kettle - Melon Sor
Only had for a couple of weeks, but very happy with this good looking and robust kettle. Good capacity. Reasonably quiet and has a gentle ding when finished boiling. Bit of blue light bling around the on/off button. Soft opening top to refill is a wee bit slow to open, but very minor problem. I hope it is still going in months/years to come.

Poor support from breville nz - lack of spares
Fine until something goes wrong: the glass lid has gone all crazy cracked after a few years of light weight domestic use. While yiu can clearly see the glass is a simple unscrew and replace fix, breville nz dont have pasts apart from the main base. So the jug is a write off. Very poor - hard to recommend.

Aesthetically pleasing - finish not great
I really want to love this kettle - love the colour, the finish, grip, the cute little bell sound but upset that it has scratched so easily - so now after only one week there is an ugly black scratch down the front side.

What a find!
This kettle is fantastic. The yellow is far more subtle in person, only a few shades off cream. It pours smoothly and is very reliable. What a good little appliance.
