Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really does have 4 in 1 functionality I was gifted the Panasonic NN-CS89L Convection Microwave Oven in exchange for an honest review on Panasonic's website. The 4 in 1 Microwave does what the name says. It combines 4 cooking functions without compromising on the effectiveness of any. I was skeptical of the ability of a bench top appliance to perform well in convection oven cooking, but it really does, roast and bake on the bench top. Works really well if smaller quantities need to be oven cooked, such as veggies for a salad or when different oven temps are needed for parts of a meal. A convenient way of having a second oven without having to reconfigure the kitchen! Microwave works as normal but is easier to clean as there is no turntable. I'm using my 4 in 1 convection microwave every day, my favourite function is the convection cooking.

So far, we’ve mainly used it for reheating, defrosting, and as an air fryer, and it has performed exceptionally well in each area. The inverter technology ensures food is heated evenly and quickly, while the defrost function works precisely without cooking the food. The air fryer feature has also been a standout, producing crispy results with less oil. The microwave’s sleek, modern design and user-friendly interface make it a pleasure to use, and the combination of features offers great versatility.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Spoil yourself This is a beautiful oven. After having my original Panasonic microwave for over 20 years, this was a bit of a treat. I'm still learning how to use it. The manual isn't a quick read. I was a little surprised at the amount of steam it builds up internally. But it cooks quickly and so far everything has come out perfectly. It would be helpful if there were more detailed training videos on how to use it. And I'm still waiting for the bonus cookbook to arrive. But highly recommend investing that little bit more for a quality all in one product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent i have had this for 3 weeks i live in a very small apartment this is a fantastic oven easy to use, i am nuerologically challenged however manage this with ease easy to clean have used steam and all functions not really needed to look at the cook book much as it explains itself have been giving away all my other cookware items as this is all i need totally recommend for small homes, light is poor however just open the door to see if food is cooked enough was expensive but well worth the price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cooks food evenly. Nice design. Good build quality The first thing to mention is that you should be prepared to learn how to use the oven. The instruction booklet is quite detailed and will help you to get the most out of the functions and get some great results. The oven is heavy so you should consider this before trying to lift it or install it. I personally have it on a kitchen island and that works well for me. I wouldn't install it above chest height mainly because the door opens downward like a tailgate and could make it difficult to operate safely. The build quality is very good. The colours of the glass and casing are fairly neutral so I'd imagine it would match a variety of kitchen colour schemes and not clash with other appliances. The fabrication of the outer casing has a premium feeling finish and the door hinges have a firm but smooth action. The trays and grill also feel as if they are made of good quality materials. I found the interior and all components very easy to clean. The exterior of the oven did get warm, but not to an unsafe level. The oven gets up to temperature quickly . It took approx. 5-8 minutes to reach 200 degrees. I've been able to cook bread, cake, brownies, roast, wings, fish, vegetables etc. with very good results. It's not quite "set and forget" but it's pretty close once you are confident operating it. Everything I have cooked so far has cooked through evenly. The instructions booklet provides many recipes which is great to get you started and helps you to adapt your own recipes to the oven. The steam-shot function definitely improved the results of the bread that I baked. If you were to install a wall oven, it would probably need its own circuit (is it 30 Amp?). This oven just plugs in to a normal power point. It could also be good option if you needed an oven for a granny flat, during a renovation, rental property, portacabin, site office etc. I was gifted the NN-CS89L Convection Microwave in exchange for an honest review on Panasonic's website

I love that this appliance does it all combining different methods of cooking meaning I can cook reheat , steam , grill all in one, the only negative is that you have to have the bench space for it as it is slightly larger than my old microwave

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, made my big oven redundant [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this just after it was released 2020/2021to replace earlier model that we wore out (CS894S). Great device for a couple as you can cook almost anything from bread to roasts to pizzas. Our main oven hasn't been used for years. I am sure this saves heaps of electricity only heating the smaller cavity. Love the combo cooking modes and steam shot features. Wish the beeper volume could be adjusted, and the buttons reacted the same as the older model. Hey Panasonic, how about an automatic stirring accessory so you don't have to keep opening the door when making th8ngs like custard and sauces. All in all a great product

It is not a small appliance, so room on your bench is very much a consideration..It is also complicated to get the full potential out of this oven, I would not recommend it for people who don't understand high-tech appliances..I love the auto reheat function but you need to keep a eye on it as it can get a bit carried away.. The steam function on mine works well apart from the water stain which could be the water..Will try it with filtered water..All in all a great oven!

Hi can I use my Le Creuset Casserole on the flatbed when using the convection method thankyou

Hi Rose, you can use your Le Creuset casserole in your Panasonic NN‑CS89LBQPQ when it’s set to convection‑only mode, as this works like a normal fan oven and safely allows metal cookware. Just make sure no microwave or combination (microwave + convection/steam) mode is selected, as cast iron contains metal and must never be used when microwave energy is active.

Can this be installed in a new kitchen as a built in appliances (eg using a trim kit) above an oven?

What kind of trays or dishes (metal or otherwise) can be used for combination cooking - convection and microwave or grill and microwave? Is the enamel tray supplied with the appliance suitable for microwave use?

Hi Linzie. Thanks for your question. Trays / dishes that can be used with combination cooking must be Microwaveable & heatproof. Best to use dishes that you would use in traditional oven cooking like Pyrex dishes. The enamel tray should not be used when you have the oven selected as a microwave. Can this product be placed into a normal  microwave cavity, any fire hazards and specifications regarding the room that is needed around the sides top and bottom for airflow?

Hi there, thanks for asking a question. This cannot be in a microwave cavity as it needs sufficient airflow on at least one side. The oven must be placed on a flat, stable surface at least 85cm above the floor. 5cm space at one side, with the other side open. 15cm clearing at the top and 10cm space from the back to a wall. Do not place on a shelf directly above a gas or electrical hob, or place any items on the vents. Hope this helps.
