My Chef KVC3100W made a huge difference!
I used to bake my own bread in a bread maker machine, but I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease in May 2024 which meant a lifestyle change. Due to the poor quality of supermarket-bought gluten free bread, I soon decided to bake my own. Bread maker results were dreadful. My hand kneading dough showed promise, but I couldn’t get the dough to rise. So in Feb this year, after talking to bakers and chefs and home cooks, I lashed out for a Kenwood Chef. The difference is stunning! My bread is no longer flat and dense - both bread maker and oven baked loaves are light and delicious. Perfect. All because of switching to the Chef KVC3100W.

If it's anything like our old mixer.....
Sadly, our old Kenwood died after sooooo many years. Like so many of these Kenwoods, my wife inherited hers from her mum some 35yrs ago and it was already old then. But it died and the cost of repair was nearly the cost of a brand new unit. The new unit is more powerful and comes with a 5yr warranty. The repair only came with a 12mth warranty.
So here we are with a new mixer. Not much has changed. It's a basic mixer without all the bling that comes with the higher models. It's heavy, stable and has plenty of grunt. I have every reason to believe that my wife will pass it on one day and it will soldier on just like the old one did.

I bought it a year ago basically for kneading dough on regular basis. It is going good so far with its function but while handling it I noticed that rim is extremely sharp. I am unsure if its common with its make but definitely very dangerous as I got myself deep cut on palm twice while attempting to remove bowl for cleaning. Now I use some kitchen towels to undo it. Seriously such a big flaw in its make.

Essential Paddle missing
A good machine but unfortunately the paddle does not scrape down the bottom of the bowl and the sides properly. I keep having to stop the machine to scrape down manually, not acceptable considering the price of the Titanium Chef XL

The attachment uses an authentic, fast milling action to process grains, pulses, rice, buckwheat or millet to make fresh flour to use in a wide range of plain and speciality breads and pastries.
