Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it I’ve been using this to grind meat for hamburgers and pasta recipes and it’s done the job perfectly. Have also used the sausage attachment - that has taken a few tries to figure out how to do it - turns out that sausage making is a bit of an artform but I’m getting there - no complaints about the attachment though. I’m using it with a Pro Line bowl lift mixer so there’s plenty of power to the grinder. One thing I’ve noticed for making sausages is to make sure to trim away any skin and all bone / cartilage or it will clog up the grinder and you won’t get free flowing meat coming out (and your sausages won’t be so great either).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I dreamed it would be I bought this grinder only a week ago, so have not had a chance to really test it out. Having said that I have made minced dried fruit balls with it and it works like a dream. The grinder minces the dried fruit to pulp or paste which I then mix with chipped nuts (Kitchen Aid Mini Food Processor), chia seeds, and a few other ingredients. The grinder has a very large top dish (funnel) for the ingredients, and its really easy to put together, cleaning was also relatively easy as the kit includes a bottle brush. The only down side is that not all the part can go into the dishwasher.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it I live this gadget. The kitchenaid was a gift, and came with the ice cream maker. I bought the metal meat grinder and sausage maker shortly after. I love them all! We have used the new appliances a lot and they are wonderful. With the grinder we have made burgers, Italian style pork and fennel sausages, and boerewors.

It's fantastic for mincing any kind of meats (eg chicken mince) for dishes, with or without additional ingredients. I've made meat patties and meatballs a few times and it easily brings together all the ingredients so I'm not having to mix things before or after. It comes in a well packaged box which is great for storage when using other attachments. If anything, I'd like the top loading tray to be a little deeper to add more ingredients varieties but this attachment has been great and time saving.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't Fit Securely in the Mixer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased KSM60 Stand Mixer in May, and then purchased several attachments, including the Food Grinder and the 3-Piece Pasta Roller Set. None of the attachments has fit securely when connected to the mixer. The securing screw on the mixer does not align properly with the notches on the attachment shafts. Instead of locking into place, the screw only catches outside of the notch, causing the attachments to shake during use. I have to keep pushing them back in and retighten the screw mid-operation, otherwise they begin to detach, which is both frustrating and posing a safety concern. I've sent these concerns to KitchenAid by email and no response yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best sausages you can make and quality We just got this product we were going to go for the plastic one I’m glad I got the metal one it’s a professional made product and the box it comes in is great so easy to keep it all together and store we make 500grams of sausages come out fantastic we now make our own mince meat and sausages on a weekly basis we love it we are even going to make a few salamis next year when it’s time my opinion and I’m a hard person this product is amazing is food grade quality

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works brilliantly [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The mincer and sausage attachment was given to me as a gift from the same person who also bought me the KitchenAid stand mixer as a gift (how lucky am I?!). Having owned a mincer previously, I'm familiar with its functionality. My previous mincer was plastic, but this one is metal which feels nice and solid. The pieces are beautifully machined and everything fits perfectly. .Having only received it recently, I've made 4 batches of mince, using pork and chicken and I've only needed to use the coarse attachment. It makes mince effortlessly although I am yet to try the sausage attachment but it's on my list to achieve perfect sausages.

Will it grind through lamb sinue cut off from around the ribcage etc

Thank you for your enquiry. Whilst the blades of the sinew are capable to cut the sinew the strands of the sinew can get caught in the spinning action of the blade assembly.
