Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not suitable for my needs This item is well made, with a lovely finish and comes in a very nice box, but it didn't work for me. I shred vegetables each morning for breakfast, and maybe it is the low volume that I am using, but large amount of it remains stuck inside the grating area, on top of the grating area, around the plunger and particularly between the grater and the outer white cover. Because the attachment sticks out so far from the end of the processor, the processor tips if you press on the plunger too heavily (to try to grate the last pieces of veg in the bottom. I was left with not much veg and dirty tools that needed to be dishwashed, all being far too much bother compared with my hand grater and spiralizer. I was hoping for a tool that would speed up my process of preparing veg each morning - this just complicated matters and ended up taking far longer. I have returned the attachment.

It is great but I realised that the wider shredding part was not included, to my slight disappointment. However the existing parts work a wonder and I have already used it to make shred carrot and zucchini for zucchini slice. Works the best on higher power settings I noticed, despite relatively soft zucchini.

I’ve never been very good at cutting without snagging a finger or 2 but also who can be bothered chopping up individual items for the same dish? I made a stirfry for my 1 year old using only the shredder and chopper attachment in less than a minute. (Not an exaggeration). Potato bake - all 4 potatos thinly and perfectly sliced up in less than a minute. We’ve also saved so much money now buying block cheese and grating / shredding it ourselves. No sore arms involved and no mess. And don’t even get me started on the clean up - EASY! And a little tip for literally everyone who has to hand wash dishes - the main part is super easy to clean with a cheap baby bottle brush. There is not a single downside to this product. It lives on my kitchen bench attached to the mixer. It’s used everyday.

Make gourmet salads innno time at all, and also easy to clean. Just run under hot water , I use this every day

Whilst I love my food processor, there's a lot of parts to wash and dry if I only want to grate veggies for a zucchini slice, or cheese for a bechamel sauce. Best part....no grated pieces falling into the kitchen bench or floor.

The carrot ends up too thin and short. Since I've already used it, I can't return it. I have several other KitchenAid attachments, and they all work well, but this one didn't meet my expectations.

Small job to clean up and safe to use. Does a quick and good jon shredding and slicing. I wish the feeder tube is larger as it is rather small to fit in normal size carrot and cucmber.

So convenient! I can't wait to try this on other veges and everything else I can think of. Wonderful investment! It does a great job with that sort of thing. The slicer works well for potatoes. Softer cheeses (including edam) work ok but the last little bit tends to get stuck a bit so it's best suited for grating larger amounts.

I find hand grating to be fatiguing these days and loading up my big food processor and then cleaning it is a lot. The grating is neat and even and the clean up is so easy. When shredding, some vegetables always stuck between walls , which causes wast of time to stop and remove it also wast of vegetables. I expect better design from kitchen aid and for this price.

It grates so easily.. the only I didn’t love was trying to do cheese in the smaller grate and it got clogged up and quite hard to get out but will just use bigger grate next time. I love it. However I found the units blades are gets 'blocked-up' with fine pulp and does not allow further fruit/veg matter into the shoot. This fine pulp, once it makes it through the units blades and into the outlet, also stops the flow of shredded matter to 'roll-out'

We normally would buy packets of sliced cheese, and bags of grated cheese, now I just buy a big block of cheese, grate half, a then add the slice attachment and make my own slices! Much cheaper!

I think a redesign of the position of the barrel might help.

The plastic tube that is used to push food into the slicer is quite fragile - I managed to chip it on the first day of use. But that isn't impacting on its function, it's just a pity.

I took it out the packaging and the plastic cylinder fell out and dropped on the floor meaning it’s chipped already. still works but very sad considering its an expensive purchase

Suggest removing the seeds in the centre and only put the freest through. Definitely worth while.

The kitchen add grater is so uniform in its grate and dosent waste food in the process.
