Big problems electrically
The toaster looks beautiful and it's a great design to have the two slots for toasting up to four slices. However, this is our second toaster that blows our new electric circuit. There's something not right about its electrics & we checked reviews we saw that his is a common problem. We wont be having a third go at persevering with this toaster.

Dangerously HOT - Use Caution when using!
Love the Smeg range, BUT for the price, its dangerously HOT to the touch, I have to tell my kids to not even go near it when making toast due to the fear of the outter toaster shell burning them if they touch it, its a massive design flaw, its so hot that if anything was resting beside it like your cupboard it would melt it, for that I would Never recommend this toaster!

Don’t buy!
Have had this toaster for 3 years and it nearly burnt my house down! If you are going to buy a 4 slice toaster make sure it has 4 separate compartments not one long one! The rack that holds the bread in this toaster is very flimsy and as a result can get stuck there preventing the shut off to work and to either short your power or in my case just keep burning the toast!

Very nice toaster - albeit expensive.
Good toaster, browns very evenly and quickly. The 2 longslots make it very flexible with odd shape bread - which was ideal for things like homemade sourdough. It also looks very good on the kitchen benchtop - and fortunately matches the oven in the house we bought.
Not 5 stars, just due to the price, and the pop up of the toast is very aggressive.
