All round excellence..
Admittedly we are Dyson fans but this new vacuum is far and away the BEST EVER. Our old one has had a lot of use and it replaced an even earlier Dyson vacuum.. all have been good but this is in a league of it's own. The things we like: rechargeable, no cable, compactor is good, weight is good, manoeuvrability is excellent. The things we love: a full charge lasts for the whole house, the light on the front is an incredible step forward in vacuum innovation, the suction never dies off, the automatic setting really is automatic.. we could go on but suffice to say - no downsides, love it. Well done Dyson, you really have moved the dial this time.

Rather wish we hadn’t…
It would’ve been perhaps rather naive of us to expect an impeccably high quality product from Dyson.
But we certainly haven’t thought this this time around on purchasing our forth hoover from them.
I spend more time taking the thing apart and cleaning out apparent blocked airways and filter only to find that there’s hardly a thing that’s been picked up to be cleared out.
When going, it’s pretty good, but it’s never for very long before it cuts out giving a “airway blocked” notification on its screen.
I only wish I could be more positive in our new purchase, but satisfied? I am not.
This will be our last Dyson.

Best Dyson vacuum!
My old cordless V10 Dyson gave me over ten years loyal service so when it was time to upgrade it, although it is still working, i would only look at buying another Dyson. I was put off slightly buying the V16 Piston Animal because of some of the reviews I read but I am so glad I went ahead and bought it. I really wanted the dual head, the bin compactor and the hidden crevice tools. These upgrades are complete game changers! This is a fantastic vacuum and I really do not know why it has received some bad reviews as I cannot fault it at all and absolutely love using it. Thank you Dyson!

More frustration than cleaning
I don’t know if we’ve just got a dud but 3 weeks in and this has proven to be a terrible purchase. Regularly claims it’s blocked when it isn’t (which renders it unusable until fixed). This happens 2-3 times a week. It has required 3 filter cleans in 3 weeks and the auto floor detection continually swaps between hard floor and carpet when the floor hasn’t changed. Certainly the one we have isn’t fit for purpose

Not the Dyson product that we've grown to love!
I bought this as a Christmas present. The performance has been very, very disappointing. We have a V6 and one later hand held Dyson which both function better. To pick up dog hair, the vacuum needs to pass over four or five times as compared to once with the earlier model. The head does no tangle the dog hair, but struggles to function as advertised. I would like to return this product because, in our case, doesn't function as expected.

The corkscrew head
Sucked very well. But after the 3rd short use it kept on saying airflow problem and turned off. It is very heavy on the arm with all the weight at the top of the machine and you are supporting all that weight. It doesn't take long before your arm starts to ache. Returned

The is my second dyson, my first vacuum was a v11 animal and I have just upgraded to the new v16 animal. I am finding a couple of things I'm struggling with tihe new one.The wand seems to get stuck when I try to get it off to clean it and I find my hand is not big enough to hold both clips in to get the bin off to clean it. I need my hubby to push the clips in and I pull the bin off, takes 2. Didn't have any issues with the v11 but I Brought this one because of no start button to hold in. I'm wondering if I could grease the clip on the wand or WD40 it may help it release easier. Maybe there is something I'm not doing right please advise

Incremental but abusive App requirement
Just an incremental evolution of the Dyson product. Is that a good thing sure its reliable but the one major failing is that the vacuum requires a Smartphone app to turn on the first time. It was purchased by my elderly parents who can barely turn on a toaster let along navigate a smart phone.
Data collection was found that the app was mapping my movements after i had set it up on my phone as i had to use it because their iPhone 7 could not have the app installed due to a meaningless hardware limitation by Dyson so with out me they would of had to purchase a new phone as well in order to turn the vaccum on. I am unsure which muppet executive thought it was a good idea to one force an app require some fairly decent phone hardware for said app and then by default track your movements with said app.
