Good, but let down by the quality of the accessories.
Generally this is a good product - if you can get at much less than the original sales price. It is light, quiet and does a good job on carpets and hard floors. The sliding dust brush is a good idea, but it is very flimsy compared to the 'proper' dust brusk. The crevice/upholstery brush is also a poor substitute for the separate accessories. I would rather have had better quality versions of these accessories than a second floor head just for hard floors, which you would only use if you had all hard floors to clean.

Reliability and consistency.
I’ve been using Miele vacuum cleaners for years, and what really sets this one apart is the new bag design that doesn’t accidentally pop out of the housing, unlike the old one. Plus, the power selection on the handle is a game-changer—you can choose the power level by hand. I think this should be standard on all their machines. The top filter is also a clever idea, though it’s a bit pricey. As with all Miele products, you get what you pay for.

Great Cleaner but shockingly bad manual
The cleaner is really good and picks up everything with ease.
The manual that comes with the cleaner however is terrible, without Youtube I wouldn't have been able to work out how to get the handle controls working. I still haven't managed the WiFi however the online chat have sent me a link to the guidance. I don't know why its not in the manual as it'd make life a lot easier if it had been

I highly recommend this product and expect it will last 16 years like the last one I had, worth every penny!
My16 year old Miele vacuum gave out on me, it was an excellent vacuum, but my new one the Guard L1 Comfort xl is perfection and such a pleasure to use. If it lasts as long as my old one did it will be worth every penny, just like my first Miele! I highly recommend this product, it is also very quiet and light.

A great vacuum cleaner let down by Miele not including the right brush as standard.
An excellent, powerful but lightweight vacuum cleaner so on the whole I’m very happy. My one gripe is that a turbo brush is THE accessory that should be included as standard with it. Miele, you’re being stingy and should address this. It should not be an expensive option!

Good looking and powerful. But would prefer access to a motor driven head (think this is available outside UK) and Miele need to add instructions on how to pair the handpiece control with the main vacuum unit. Fortunately, users have put it on YouTube.

Great quality, excellent suction. Really pleased with the XL head and bag space. Fingers crossed it goes the distance (10years+) as our work horse. I won't use the smart features, these don't interest me, but the main interface is simple and intuitive.

Well worth the money
Great little machine especially with the extra attachments. Carpets look like new and extra length helps with the stairs. Great suction. Even my husband is coming round to the fact vacuuming the hard floors is miles better than swiffing!!
