Amazing for pet owners
Just brought one and it is amazing. I vacuumed with my Dyson before going off to but the shark out of frustration of not picking up dog hair from the carpet. Once unboxed and put together I thought wow what a solid built pice of kit this vac is. I proceeded to vacuum the floor that was previously done by the Dyson and wow not only had it picked up the dog hair in one pass the dirt that was missed from the now demoted Dyson was also sucked up. If you own pets you must have one of these shark vacuum cleaners. This amazing and also very easy to empty the container once full.

10/10 would 100% recommend!
If there are any bad reviews on this product i urge you to take them with a grain of salt, i dont own this vacuum but i borrowed it from a friend and omg is it the best vacuum cleaner i have ever used and i myself am a cleaner so ive used alot through trial and error trying to find a product that does extremely well on both carpet and hard floors, with pets and without pets this vacuum is amazing, the handheld option to take it off the stick has been very well designed its so convenient getting into the harder spots, i honestly cant say a single bad thing about this product, i will definitely be purchasing one when im able to.
10/10 would 100% recommend!!

Not what I'd hoped for
I really wanted this to be great. It's actually pretty heavy, I'm in relatively strong. But, what had this vacuum flop for me, was the turbo head and actually lifting power. The turbo head brissels are soft like fibres compared to the older versions. Which makes it hard to still collect pet hair. 15mins on a door mat and still didn't life it all off. 25 minutes in a small room and still pet hair in the carpet. Yes it does collect allot of dirt and dust, but for its purpose and price, it doesn't do everything as it should.
The odour puck, a nice scent, but overall I'm pretty dissapointed. I was hoing to purchase the codless as well, I'm glad I didn't now.

Shark Stratos, great buy !!
I bought this vacuum after reading the positive reviews online. I've previously owned Dyson" s which lasted years and also an Electrolux. I am very pleased with my Shark Stratos, it is built well and does not leave a horrible stinky dog smell like my Dyson. It is a little heavier, but I'm ok with that. It has an excellent suction and I can actually access all the filters to replace unlike my old Dyson. I love the light feature so I can see where the dust and dog hairs I need to suck up. It comes with some accessories too. I find it stores really well also as it's an upright vacuum - this is my first upright vacuum. Happy customer.

Blimmin Amazing!
My only regret, is that I didn't know about this vaccum years ago.
With four cats and three kids, our brand new carpets got manky QUICKLY. Our new Hoover vaccum was just plain useless and was not cutting it.
Heard about the Shark, watched the demo online, read all the reviews and decided it was worth the risk.
Omg - I LOVE cleaning the house, as it ACTUALLY picks up the cat hair, fluff and dirt. And I no longer have to cut all the long hair out of the foot - as this one cuts it automatically!
Trust me, if you have pets or kids with long hair, and carpets... You're gonna love the Shark XL...

Terrific suction, a bit heavy
I bought this as I was fed up with the short life of a battery vacuum and the lack of suction. This vacuum has incredible suction and feels like it gets every last animal hair. The roller does not get tangled in hair. The con is that this vacuum is very heavy. The base can be taken off so you can use it as a hand held with the hose, but still heavy. For me, the deep cleaning power is worth the heaviness and I still have the quick but less efficient battery stick for quick cleans.

BEST. VACUUM. EVER. (& we have 3 kids + 4 pets!)
Had a Shark Navigator back in the day. LOVED IT. Parts were too hard to come by, so I went for a Dyson V7 Pet Pro, or whatever *shrugs*. Anyhoo. The Dyson was great for a few years, and then we had to replace the battery, the head, the charger, the barrel... It was ridiculously expensive to maintain and wasn't picking up near the amount we used to get.
When I found out Shark were still making Upright vacuum cleaners, I read all the reviews on both the Shark and Harvey Norman sites and then I RAN to Harvey Norman['s website... figurative running...]
My partner and I were STUNNED by what it picked up the first round, and are like new parents watching their baby do anything for the first time... "Look at this! All that from only one pass!" ... "WOW. Did you see that?! It separated the sock I just sucked up by accident into a separate chamber!"
It's an upright vacuum, so it gives a deeper clean than a bagged or stick one, AND it turns into a stick one with the touch of a button, so you can go further and get under tight spots. The swivel-factor is a 10/10, and the attachments are simple and GOOOOD!
You know those people who marry inanimate objects? So tempting.
We are in LOVE with this thing! (why yes we ARE in our late 30s...)

Much Improved Shark Vacuum
I do like Shark Vacuum Cleaners so I am a little biased however This one is certainly an improvement over my last one. There's nothing worse than trying to detangle rollers and remove trapped hair but the new roller design makes cleaning the head so much simpler.
All the controls for the head height and the power button situated on the handle makes life easier, in fact, the new location for all the operational buttons is a distinct improvement over previous models.
Cleaning is effective with this machine and it is doubly so since we have two dogs that shed fur regularly, keeping the home clean is a breeze. The inclusion of new tools for dealing with fur on upholstery is an added bonus.
Altogether a great purchase.

Hi can you advise what is entailed with the 'scent', is it a chemical that is sprayed ? I am interested in the vacm but would like to know if the chemical is optional ( for health reaons). thanks Jill
Great question Jill. It is a scent puk that attaches to the foot of the vacuum cleaner and pushes scent through to the foot of the machine. It's designed to trap smells and odours keeping the machine and filters smelling fresh. It doesn't come into contact with the floor or carpet, so there is no spray involved or risk to humans or pets. It is completely optional and does not need to be put into the unit to function. Trust this helps! ^CO
