Rated 3 out of 5 by from Upgrade But Not Really an Upgrade I bought the A8000 to replace my A7000. I deleted the driver for my A7000 and downloaded the driver for the A8000. I ran several speed tests and found the A8000 to be slower than my A7000. I re-boxed the A8000 and it is decorating my shelf while I have reverted to the use of my A7000. Not sure why the upgraded unit is slower, but the speed test numbers speak for themselves. (My A7000 has a much larger antenna than the A8000, which may have something to do with the slower speed of the latter?)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remember ‘plug & play’? Well - this epitomizes that concept. My legacy laptop 2.4 internal WiFi interface was fine 5-years ago. After trying (returning) several other brands and models, I decided to try NetGear because I was so impressed with the NightHawk WiFi router/firewall I purchased about a year ago. I didn’t want need ‘ultra fast’ with system system, so I went with the AXE3000. The first thing that I enjoyed was that the setup removed all of my legacy adapters from the view of my always invasive Win11 OS. After completing setup, I rebooted and just sat back and the NetGear AXE3000 ‘do its thing’. My DL speeds through another companies WAP’s I installed was SO much faster, even faster than the ‘other’ WiFi 5GHz plug-in I was replacing. I’ve had ZERO issues with compatibility, and the sensitivity of the AXE3000 allows me to move farther on to the back porch and still work at reliable and greatly improved speeds. Couldn’t be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 Happy Netgear cutomers for the price of 1 Blazing speeds, wow! I got it for my son (he's a gamer). I had a selfish reason for that. I wanted his AC1200 WIFI USB ADAPTER for my old dell laptop. I couldn't find one anywhere local and so I turned off my internal wifi and just plugged it into my USB 3.0 slot and I do not worry about losing my internet connection and It works equally fast for me also. Hooray and Thank You NETGEAR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great adapter, works on linux too (read review for how) This adapter will be 100% supported on of the box starting with linux kernel 6.4 I believe. However if you have a fairly recent 6.x kernel it will work as long as you execute the 2 following commands after each reboot: 1) modprobe mt7921u 2) echo 0846 9060 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/mt7921u/new_id It works great for me on both my fedora distribution PC and my raspberry 4. Best wifi adapter I ever used. very fast and strong signal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works outside I initially got this because the wifi card in my laptop stopped working and I wanted to try this before more costly options. But this ended up being way better because now I can get a strong wifi signal on our back porch and now I can work efficiently outside! It also picks up signal at the arboretum by me so I can work there too :) LOVE!
