Upgrade But Not Really an Upgrade
I bought the A8000 to replace my A7000. I deleted the driver for my A7000 and downloaded the driver for the A8000. I ran several speed tests and found the A8000 to be slower than my A7000. I re-boxed the A8000 and it is decorating my shelf while I have reverted to the use of my A7000. Not sure why the upgraded unit is slower, but the speed test numbers speak for themselves. (My A7000 has a much larger antenna than the A8000, which may have something to do with the slower speed of the latter?)

Great adapter, works on linux too (read review for how)
This adapter will be 100% supported on of the box starting with linux kernel 6.4 I believe. However if you have a fairly recent 6.x kernel it will work as long as you execute the 2 following commands after each reboot:
1) modprobe mt7921u
2) echo 0846 9060 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/mt7921u/new_id
It works great for me on both my fedora distribution PC and my raspberry 4. Best wifi adapter I ever used. very fast and strong signal.

Great for old computers
My really old laptop had problems picking up weaker wi-fi signals. I added an A8000 and the problem was solved.

Positive Experience With A8000 Adapter
Very pleased with this purchase. The download of the software to mate the product with my PCs was smooth and incident free. The PCs identified the product and began using it immediately. The transportability of the adapter has been perfect with my moving the adapter from one PC to another. It has performed flawlessly on video calls, web connections and music streaming. Amazing! Fast and Cool
Replaced my old T9UH with this and WOW. Much faster and doesn't disconnect. The other thing that is very interesting is that this adapter doesn't get hot or even warm which is good because there is less thermal fatigue.
