It switches so fast between YouTube, Netflix, and goes back to the Home Screen within seconds! I love the voice assistant and how easy it is to access it. It has an app which is always helpful and from the app you’re also able to use your phone as the remote. It was really easy to set up and download all of our streaming services and apps. Definitely not going back to any other streamer.

It turns any TV into a smart TV — or in my case, it significantly upgraded the smart features on an existing TV that were starting to feel a bit clunky. The interface is smooth, fast, and intuitive, and everything just works as it should. This is actually the second one in my house because it’s that good. I got the whole thing plugged in and running in about 10 minutes. It may take longer if you don’t have a Google account but I don’t imagine it’s very hard to make one. No connection issues what so ever. Picture quality and sound seem great. The remote is easy enough my five year old can work it on his own. I really like this TV streamer and would buy one again in the future.

If you have roku or firestick, I would recommend those products over the Google TV streamer. The remote is nice and sleek. The connectivity is a bit cumbersome. You'll need to plug in an adapter and use an hdmi cord (2 cords) to connect the device to your TV. If you're like me, most of your administration ports are taken from other devices ( i.e., game consoles).

Yes it’s a remote control, and yes it allows you to control other Google home products but what if I don’t have those? Wouldn’t my originally remote for my tv allow me to control said tv? And wouldn’t said tv have the apps necessary? I guess it’s cool that it’s voice control but I think it’s pretty useless. Looks nice though

The newest Google tv interface is nice enough with increased configurability but the hardware exiles. Fast and some neat features like the find remote button. OMG how do we survive without this. If you need ethernet this is a no brainer, otherwise highly recommended.

This streamer was a cheap way to revive an older TV with a much faster and more capable interface. All controls are done through the Google TV remote including TV volume and TV on/off. All streaming apps installed without issue and everything runs well. Comparable experience to NVidia Shield which is much more expensive.

Setup was fine but Google really wants you living in its ecosystem, which gets annoying fast. Still quicker and cleaner than my old setup and does what it promises without falling over. Solid, not magical, but I’d still buy it again.

It is just annoying that if you want to use your Google photos as a screensaver they are always zoomed in so don't look great. Apparently there is no way to fix this. It is good you can still cast shows from your phone though. One other thing, is it's very hard to get the back off the remote to change batteries!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Tip For Buyers - Buy a new HDMI 2.0 cable! Note the item doesn't come with a HDMI cable. You will need to buy one but if you have an older one at home then buy a HDMI 2.0 cable, as older HDMI cables may not be compatible with the device and you may see jittery or blank screen and cause confusing set up. Used a 2.0 HDMI cable and it worked fine. Fast response and easy set up once the HDMI cable issue was resolved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great UPDATE! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just set up my new Chromecast and I am enjoying it. First of all, you will need a HDMI cable of your own. This is the only complain I have so far. If you have/ had a Chromecast, the setup is the same process. But, if you haven't had one don't worry the process is easy and simple is like any other set up that would take up to 15 min. The remote feels nicer than the old version. It also feels bigger and the volume buttons are in front of the control, not in the side. They also added a favorite button that could launch your favorite app., switch inputs, or open the home panel to control your smartphone. A really cool feature that I like is Find My Remote. You can locate your remote by pressing the button on the back of your Google TV streamer box, or using your voice by saying "Hey Google find my remote". This TV streamer seems fast and more high definition. Great quality and more features. It's a great Update!

Great question Arun! It's more a standalone streaming box that runs Android TV. You can also still cast content from phones, tablets, or laptops to the device, as long as it's on the same WiFi network, but you will need an HDMI to connect to TV. Trust this helps! ^CO
