Great little device
Pretty happy with this purchase. Love the variety of streaming service apps that are available. Some use different ways to log in (i think Netflix used a qr code, but the rest require entering username and password).
I like that since it is linked to my account i don't lose where i am up to on shows of i watch one via my phone or the tv, the both remember where I was up to.
The two minor downsides are:
1. The device must be plugged into a power socket, not just into the tv. We have taped ours to the back of the tv to keep it out of sight.
2. The remote can't replace the tv remote. Yes, it can turn the tv on and control the volume, but it can't change channels so the tv remote is still required.

Endless things to watch
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This streamer is perfect for non-smart tv or even older smart tv. It’s easy to set up includes everything except hdmi cable. I wish it came with a white hdmi cable to match the hub and remote. The hub have a button to locate remote if it’s missing. I love all the free channels google tv free play offers. If that’s not enough you can download apps to play Netflix YouTube Hulu and more so you’ll have endless things to watch. You can also cast from your phone and also can play stuff from your usb. I have my nest doorbell camera connected to the streamer when I’m watching tv I can see who is at my door.

Wow is all I can say. This was so easy to set up. All Channels available. Binge, Prime, Netflix, Disney, paramount, Stan , Kayo, Spotify.
Very easy to set up. The remote control for the google streamer even takes over for your tv and soundbar. So you only need one controller. No need to pair or look for product number, simply scroll to the brand. Eg in my case TCL (tv) and JBL ( sound bar). I am definitely not a “techie” but this thing was so easy to set up.

Easy setup

This streamer will organize and store all of your content and you won’t have to spend time switching back and forth between apps looking for a show to watch. Each member of the family can set up a profile and the google streamer will soon recognize each individual’s entertainment habits and start making recommendations. It’s so smart you can push a button on the google device and the lost remote will ring out loud so you can locate it with ease. There’s so many things you can do with this streamer to make movie night happen so fast you won’t have time to make popcorn!

Best 4K streamer. Clear your doubts and read.
Awesome, better than the sky pod and chromecast dongle. Dolby vision and HDR10 are fantastic on this. The streamer doesn't hang, it's very fast (4gb RAM) everything works smoothly. The only downside is not having an input USB port, however, as a smart tech guy, I found a way around it by using FTP. I can just send/copy whatever wirelessly from my phone or computer to the tv directly. 32gb ROM is a lot of space to download things on. It has no restriction on the download of foreign apps. The remote control is quite small, however, I paired my TV's remote to the streamer so I don't have to worry about using the small remote control. The things this streamer can do makes is a great steal for that price. I just cannot list all it can do here cos it's a lot. I'm saying this cos I've used different kind of tv boxes and chromecasts including sky pod and I can confidently say that this Google 4k streamer is the best. If you r still doubting, be lucky you found my review cos I'm here to clear all doubts. Do not believe any negative review, those people know nothing about tech. If you r conflicted, look no further and take the leap of faith and get yourself one before it becomes scarce and the price go up. For me, this is the best budget 4K streamer at this point in time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our house loves Google and all of their products so I was so happy to try this out. It was super easy to connect however, you do need your own HDMI cable to connect it to the TV. As soon as you power on your TV and select Google, the menu walks you through the set up process. It connects to WiFi and then you select what apps you currently use. It all shows up on the Google TV home screen and you are free to log into all your apps in one place. This is perfect for someone without a smart TV. We love it.

I have an older version chromecast which I connect to the TV via HDMI. How would thisone connect would I need a USB-C to HDMI cable?

Great question Arun! It's more a standalone streaming box that runs Android TV. You can also still cast content from phones, tablets, or laptops to the device, as long as it's on the same WiFi network, but you will need an HDMI to connect to TV. Trust this helps! ^CO
