Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Mesh Switching is a Problem I have had this mesh network up and running for a while and if you are just sitting in one room its fine. Once you start moving around and it "tries" to switch to and from the satellite the connection is not fluid. Apps on the phone stall and crash and the system struggles to decide which mesh device to connect to. Also the security is a bit iffy, I have block on all new devices but if you need to reboot the router, which you often do, the satellite will fail to reconnect or will do some sort of Band-Aid connect which is glitchy. If your house isn't huge I would recommend a strong signal stand alone wifi router and avoid all the issues with these mesh systems, unless you are just sitting in the one place all the time. I should have paid more attention to the youtuber warning about this issue.

It has increased my Wi-Fi speeds from around 30Mbps in the lounge to an average of 140Mbps, capable of streaming 8K resolution. Also, it doesn't look too bulky, and would recommend the Orbi system

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbi mesh system: Highly recommended A great product that worked out of the box. It was quick and easy to set up. We did have to reconfigure some devices from the old wifi connection, but any issues (and they were minor) were with those devices, not with the Orbi. The mesh system covers our house exceptionally well, alleviating many of the issues we had with a single wifi router, such as slow connection, streaming difficulties and dropouts in remote rooms.

Installed this and cannot believe I have maximum NBN allover, IT even has increased my Bluetooth range. My wireless network printer run at full speed now.........(lightning fast printing) which usually is a misnomer.

Does this replace your modem and plug directly into the fibre box?

Thanks for your question. The AX1800 is a router system only and is designed to broadcast WiFi signals using the satellite RBS350 included. For internet service you will still need to connect to a modem. Trust this helps clarify. ^CO
