Ditching NBN for Starlink
After waiting six months for Telstra to fix my FTTP, I threw in the towel and looked for other options. I decided to try out Starlink. Setting up the modem and dish was a breeze: one cable to the modem, then the Ethernet cable from the modem to the dish. I installed the Starlink app, set up a new account and billing, and within 5-15 minutes, everything was connected and ready to go.
Internet speeds can drop to 50-70mbps, avg 180-200mbps, fastest seen 389mbps. Ping hovers around 40-60.

Just do it !
If you are contemplating changing from sky-muster plus to starlink just do it. I can now watch Kayo sport in 4k and my internet is blindingly fast. It is very easy to set up and the first time you switch on you won't be able to get the smile off your face.

Starlink Kit - additional purchase
My second Starlink kit purchased as a roaming kit.
Works perfectly whilst on holidays and caravanning. Much better than hot-spotting or using free wifi. Both systems provide 200-400mbps and enable all devices to operate perfectly and almost everywhere. Roaming plan is slightly more per month, but able to be paused, so no ongoing monthly subscriptions.
Would highly recommend this system.

New internet experience for the new home!
Better than expected. I found the product perfectly boxed, the instructions easy to follow and the app easy to install and understand. I had connection as quick as I paid the connection fee. Awesome and better quality connection and download speeds even with my family all connecting Phones, Tablets and desktop PCs immediately in our new home.

I am looking to buy a starlink kit for my home and home office. There are two houses on the property and a garage where the office is. What is the range of the kit please between buildings. Will we need an extender.
Hi Diane, the Starlink Standard Kit V4 covers up to 297 m² indoors, but the signal drops quickly between separate buildings, so for two houses and a garage you’ll almost certainly need Starlink Gen 2 or Gen 3 Mesh Nodes to extend coverage reliably across the whole property.

Can I use overseas like Philippines when I bring with me for holiday?
Hi Mark, you can take your Starlink Standard Kit V4 from NZ to the Philippines, but only if you switch to a Starlink Roam (Mobile) plan, which allows international use for up to 2 months per trip in countries where Starlink is licensed, including the Philippines. Your normal NZ Residential plan won’t work overseas.

Also, I'm planning to use it in a temporary mobile setup with local Wi-Fi access for multiple users. Would the standard kit support that, or do I need a separate router or mesh system?

Mobile & Priority use may be subject to different terms and conditions from Starlink, and we recommend checking with them directly for suitable models. ^CO

If I purchase a Starlink Satellite Kit from Harvey Norman and subscribe to the Roam – Unlimited plan via the Starlink website, will I be able to use the service in Fiji without any regional restrictions?
Great question Wajira. Yes, Starlink is accessible in Fiji, including Starlink kits purchased in New Zealand. Please note, using Starlink Roam for over 2 months in a different country, may result in service restrictions and you’ll need to cancel your current service plan and set up a new account in the new country. If I purchase a Satellite kit at Harvey Norman, is there any time limit before which it must be activated? Purchasing directly from Starlink automatically activates after 30 days.
