Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works - but not the best Arlo product I bought this a month or so back, already have other Arlo cameras. Main issue I have with this product is you cannot disable it like the other camera's, which means if you have work going in line of site (painters in my case) it generates a huge number of notifications. Only option is to remove until work completed for the day. Arlo community site suggests create a custom mode, but that just creates another problem Other issue is it seems to consume battery quickly compared to cameras (due to the above I guess) and slower to recharge compared to Arlo cameras. Disappointing !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well in conjunction with a chime I would have liked to make this a wired device but actual circumstances lead me to using it as an unwired variety. So having to make the settings to the lowest energy consumption reduces the amount of features thus avoiding ultra regular recharging. Not using the subscription service also further reduces functionality. Living in a bit of a messy suburb has lead to people attacking the doorbell for whatever reason was in their peturbed minds. So it can easily come off the mounting when enough force is applied. However all these things considered it is a functioning video doorbell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected I bought this a month ago now, and honestly I had my doubts. Not so much in the product, but I'm not technically inclined. But I figured I'd give it a go. The charging and set up was easier than I thought they'd be. The app is truly user friendly. I must say that I'm sure I'm not using all the product features, but it gives me a great view of my yard, the sound and picture quality are great and I'm very pleased with its doorbell function. So, for the technophobes out there who can operate basic apps - if I can work it out, I'm sure you can too!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from solid but sensitive and vulnerable bought to replace existing Blink doorbell. I have 4 pros also. As usual it is a solid unit with excellent features, like the cameras. Problem is it is too sensitive, even at its lowest sensitivity setting, for a device that points at the street - it catches every car, all day, and the battery runs low too fast. Also, the release function used to take it off its bracket is too easy for anyone to do - its just a standard sim pin. considering the cost of replacement, I think you should consider a more secure design. too easy to steal.

Packed full of features you’d want including clear video both day and night, timely and detailed alerts and the ability to speak to people who ring the doorbell. Battery hasn’t needed a recharge yet and it’s in a busy block of units where it gets a lot of use so that’s been a surprising bonus. It’s been great for parcel delivery as well. Great value so highly recommend if you were thinking of converting from a traditional doorbell to a video doorbell

But, and it is one big but, the material at the lower front section is made of a plastic that scratches very easily. Even just with your fingernail. For a door bell that is terrible. It is not a cheap item and you would not expect it to scratch do badly. Makes it look crappy on your front door. Forget about any help from Arlo about it. Look up other online complaints about the same issue.

The 2 second delay after pressing the button and the bell ring could be improved (shorten to under 1 second). Don’t know how robust the wall frame is (from wear & tear) when I have to keep removing the doorbell for recharging once a week. Wide angle of view. Elegant design. Phone app can do with an ease of use improvement.

We have a wired doorbell push and a wired chime inside the house. Can I just replace the doorbell push with this and the existing chime will ring?

Thanks for your question. Yes, according to Arlo you can replace your existing doorbell push with this model, and your existing chime should ring, provided your doorbell transformer voltage is between 8-24VAC with a minimum rating of 10VA. How long does the battery last?

Great question Emma. The expected battery life is approximately 6 months, however, the rate of charging and overall battery level is dependent on overall use and weather conditions. Frequent use of can result in complete battery drain as the doorbell battery only charges when not in use. Trust this helps!
