Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive! I was lucky enough to win a 2 camera Max Ranger system in a Swann promotion. I already have a Swann wired system which has been in operation for around 3.5 years. My existing system had several blind spots, so I took the opportunity to cover these areas with the new Max Ranger cameras. Not only were the new cameras super easy to install, but the vision is crisp, colour is amazing, and night vision is super impressive. As per instructions provided, I charged the units prior to installation, and the solar panels have taken over from this point with the cameras running without further charge since I installed them two weeks ago. The backup battery in the base unit is also a great feature, enabling the system to continue to operate in the event that power is cut. As I have an existing system, I was pleasantly surprised at how seamlessly the Max Ranger units connect into the Swann Security App, with all cameras visible concurrently, across both systems. The lack of requirement to switch between systems is a great feature in my view. As I’m on a suburban block, range is not really an issue for me, but I can certainly say I have had no issues with the Wi-Fi signal. I did find aligning the camera brackets a little trickier than it was with my wired system due to the mechanism design, but once set, the camera brackets were solid and support the cameras well. Overall though, a super impressive system. I’d definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sense of safety is really priceless [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a great upgrade to my sense of security. These cameras are nice and small but big enough to see, which I think is great because it makes them a deterrent to shenanigans. I have a big dog who barks but I don’t always know what he’s barking at. With these I just pull up the app and can see if anything is going on. They took a bit to install but I think it was totally worth the effort. The fact that they are solar powered gives me an added sense of security because I never have to worry about them not working. These days it is hard to put a price on feeling safe because safety is so hard to find. With that in mind these are completely worth the price and the effort.

It’s very easy to use. The advanced technology features are very impressive. The video quality great. It offers facial recognition making it easier to determine real threats vs false threats. It even has sensor spotlights for increased safety at night. I love that it has its own app and doesn’t require you to pay a fee to use it. Great product if you’re looking to upgrade your homes safety.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Swann MazRanger 4K security cameras, amazing long range connectivity with high resolution!!! Swann MaxRanger 4K. I was recommended these cameras by a friend and ended up buying a pair. I live on a 10-acre country property and wanted something that could have a long-range connectivity, as well as a clear sharp image. Well, these cameras don’t disappoint, I am amazed at the 4K resolution even at a 400m plus distance. I have one of them set up approx 250m down my driveway so as we can see who is coming onto our property in advance. The image is extremely sharp and the connection to the base station has full bars, the NVR base station also has a backup battery that will keep you connected for up to 5 hours, should your power go down. Another upside is that the solar panel is integrated in the unit with the camera, so, there is no problem with having to deal with 2 separate things. Apparently, the Lithium-ion battery in the cameras is made by Tesla and can withstand lower temperatures and hold their charge longer than the average WI-FI external security camera. Other quality features for these cameras are the quality Sony sensors, siren and spotlights, colour day and night vision and 2-way audio. The Swann MaxRanger 4K security cameras are a real game changer and I would highly recommend them for your security needs which are also ideal for average home, office, business and people with larger properties as its expandable up to 8 cameras. Well done Swann!!!!

The picture quality is amazing day or night and the installation wasn’t too bad. They also have a free installation card inside the box that comes with the system so if you have trouble with installing it they have someone do it for you for free. I would recommend this item to you any day!!

The app is not as easy to navigate as I would like it to be, so maybe it does and I can't find it, but I found where it says HD. I also would love if the hub was wifi compatible like the cameras, that way the hub could be hooked right to my TV, instead of being limited to being that close to the modem. Otherwise, I do love it has adjustable sensitivity levels. Makes markers to watch when you catch a disturbance. Has a years worth of recorded storage thats easily erased when your ready. Its lights are bright and not only can you hear, or speak, you can also sound an alarm! These are everything our other unit was missing, and will make a great addition to our home security system.

The battery life is amazing & they were so easy to install, I have already recommended them to some family members. The app is easy to use & I love that I don't have to pay any monthly fee to use it. They have a very clear image & I feel very safe having them when I am away from home!

The picture quality is excellent, but there's a minor issue with the app – I can't flip the camera view. Additionally, charging the camera can be inconvenient as it needs to be turned occasionally due to poor sunlight exposure. Despite these drawbacks, it's still a fantastic investment for peace of mind.

With that said, this system is amazing! Live stream is quick and clear, and easy to use with the app. Mounting on some surfaces can get tricky, but if that's the only issue, I can cope. I gave this system to my parents from their home, and it's easy enough for them to utilize and navigate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MaxRanger4K Solar Surprise I was one of the recipients of the "Meet Max" drawing. The excitement was over the top and continues today as I'm getting excellent video from two areas around my house that has been lacking. Since I installed my Swann system several years ago my two side yards were left out. The reason being, the access to get the cable to the cameras is nasty. I was pumped to see the ad for the MaxRanger and it being a wifi camera system. It sounded exactly like the answer to the side yards. When the camera system arrived a couple weeks ago I was really impressed how well it was packaged. I unboxed everything and setup the cameras for charging. Read the easy to understand instructions and got the hub powered and connected to my network and a TV for monitoring. I did find it funny, once I powered the hub it immediately connected to the two charging cameras so I looked at a bookcase for the night. The next morning armed with my screwgun and a ladder I headed to the two locations I had picked out for the install. Both had good security coverage and ample sunlight for changing. The hub/cameras were configured on Swann Security before I went out the door. The mounting brackets were simple to screw into my fascia board, cameras clinked right in, a little adjustment and they were done! They have worked flawlessly since I put them up. I'm still working on the right adjustments for monitoring but have been totally pleased with the system. Now I'm exploring what other locations around the house that work for a couple more of these great cameras. Ample sunshine in my biggest problem in the front of the house (northside). Rumors of some rain gutter clips may be the answer. The Five Star rating is a 100%, in my opinion!

It is long range and has a built in solar panel to keep on recording. It is easy to install and has free video recording. No one wants to pay to record anymore. I would recommend using Swann to anyone that wants to watch over their home!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4 Star Camera setup Good camera however for the price there are some downfalls, the antenna doesn’t feel well fixed in place and is easily moveable… don’t think it is true 4K, maybe more like 2K. Other than that the motion alerts are on point and it is fast activating. Quality of the camera images and video could be more refined along with the mounting and antenna.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well when wi-fi cameras won't cut it I live in the 3rd floor of an apartment building with a garage on the ground floor. I was looking for some cameras to monitor the garage and most wi-fi cameras wouldn't work as I couldn't pick up my network from the garage. Took a gamble on these as they seemed to be the only reasonably priced long range cameras on the market and I'm happy to say they worked out quite well for me! The one downside is that the live playback isn't always perfect and can freeze for a few seconds, but it works well most of the time. Admittedly, the main reason I got these cameras was to be able to check if I left my garage door open or if I accidently hit the clicker from my apartment (yes it does open from up there). Never had any issues connecting to the cameras and steady live playback isn't strictly necessary for checking on the garage or downloading playback from an incident, so I'm happy! Had these cameras a few weeks now and battery charge is still showing full, but that's to be expected considering the cameras turn on only a few times a day when I go in the garage or check on them.

But wow these security cameras are wonderful, solar powered and so easy to setup. The quality of picture day and night is so clear. Also the audio really pics up conversations from a distance, I can hear neighbors across the street and across canal. You also are able to talk through the camera to whomever is out there. I also love that they are not overly sensitive to a leaf blowing by, a bird flying by or a tiny lizard runs by. The island I live on the demographic has changed over night. The super wealthy are moving in and buying up any property they can get hands on and literally stay in few months out of year. Which we hate cause it pushes the middle class out. But for the ones that are able to continue to live here and are year round locals. We have noticed people that don’t belong, creeping around late night in dark clothing. Most likely scooping out what homes are empty and ones that are not. As a single female it’s concerning. I carry protection but having these cameras have helped ease my mind and gives me more sense of security. At least now I can see what’s coming at me and not taken by surprise if in the event something did happen.

I absolutely in love with these security cameras. In this particular set you will find three MaxRanger4K antennas which you need to screw to 2 solar Cameras and to one Power Hub. It will take 15 seconds. You will also find an additional rechargeable battery for Hub, one USB-C cable, one optical mouse, 64 GB SD storage, an Ethernet cable, two outdoor mounting stands, power adapter, HDMI cable and step-by-step instructions. Depends on your phone, download Swann Security App from Apple Store or Google Play. Register your account and pair it with your cameras. The process is simple! You will see your working cameras in the App right away. Final step, instal your cameras where you want (screws are included) and enjoy your security system! These cameras have 4K, day+night vision charged by solar power and they are connected to Wi-Fi. They are easily detect people, cars, and motion. In the night cameras react on motions and turn on the lights, in this case you will see not only black and white picture, but video in color. The app has a ton of features such a microphone, sensor spotlights, siren and speaker, multiple users for the family. All notifications you can receive in a second. Amazing security system, which you need to try. I’m happy to have it!

Having recently moved into a multi-storey townhouse, I had to consider options for security and CCTV coverage. The building is mostly concrete, leaving no option for a hard-wired system, and camera location would make it difficult to continually remove for charging. I reviewed the various options on the market and was pointed towards Swann camera systems. Being an Australian company and producing a wide range of products, it was an easy decision to build my system around their selection of cameras. I received their new dual camera Max Ranger 4K kit. The cameras have an integrated solar panel to charge while in use. The kit contains a hub which has onboard 64GB of memory and is expandable via a USB port. The hub provides extended range on the cameras, which is rated out to 600m unobstructed and 200m obstructed. I found this capability handy to provide a consistent connection through concrete walls. Connection was simple with the cameras preconfigured to the hub, so plug and play. The hub needs to be connected to a monitor to configure your Internet connection; hopefully, in the future, this can be done directly by phone or tablet, but it is not an issue. Having now used the cameras for a couple of weeks, I like the quality of the 4K images and configuration in the app. Ensure that the cameras receive a few hours of sunlight per day to maintain the charge and minimize high traffic areas to reduce the drain on the batteries.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to use these cameras at my business on the sides of my building where my other cameras do not have as great a view, however, trying them out in my backyard has made me want to keep them on my fence! I get an excellent and high quality view of my entire backyard with just the two cameras. I even get views of the back door and patio area. The battery life so far has been great, even when we had an overcast day. I love the features in the app for settings such as when I'm home and do not need the cameras going, or when I'm away and do want need alerts. One issue I had was that my dog was picked up as a car, but I found it amusing. The app is great with love viewing on a grid or list as well as dynamic viewing. Nighttime of course is not as easy to see, but if someone walks into the yard at night, we will definitely be alerted, so the night view is fine in that respect. I did not choose to try out the subscription because I do not feel the need to have those added features at this time. Setup was super simple with the quick start guide and I was up and running within 15 minutes! The base station is a bit bulky, but I'm glad it's white and does not interfere with my decor in that room. My cameras were detected immediately, and my Internet speed has not slowed down by having the connection of the base station to my router. Packaging was also very organized and the equipment seems very well made, heavy and sturdy.

I have never found one that included all the features that were important to me, until now! The top features for me would be solar power, wireless connectivity, spotlights, and 2-way audio, which are all included in this set. The extra features that take this system over the top include the amazing long range of the wireless signal, the ability to set motion sensitivity, incredible night vision capabilities, and 4K video quality. The setup of this set was so much easier than I anticipated. All I had to do was download the app, plug in the hub to my router, scan the qr code on the hub with the app, and then turn on the video cameras (cameras are already linked to hub) and install cameras with 4 screws! You should also charge the cameras up for a few hours before installing them since they will need some time to charge in the sunlight once installed. There is also a battery you will need to charge that goes in the hub so you won't lose access to the system if the power goes out. So far, we have not had any issues with the solar batteries. They stay charged even through the rainy, cloudy days, which we have had a lot of lately. As impressed as I am with the battery capabilities, I'm even more impressed with the amazing video quality! The quality is so important as extra details can make all the difference when trying to identify suspected thieves. The night vision is equally impressive and makes me feel confident in this system to help me keep my home safe. The added bonus of the spotlight and 2-way audio really puts my mind at ease and comes in handy during certain situations. One of the reasons I wanted a security system was to identify animals coming around my home, especially at night. Occasionally, we get a visit from a bear that takes our garbage out of our bin, but until now, we have not actually seen it ourselves, although our neighbors have seen it. We also have deer in our backyard every morning, so it's nice to deer watch. I get real-time motion alerts for cars, any type of motion, and heat signatures, so nothing ever gets missed, but I can also view the live coverage anytime from the app. A 64 gb SD card came with the system, but you also have a free trial period to use the cloud service, so that was a nice addition. You really do get what you pay for and though the price of this system is not among the cheapest on the market, you will save money in the long run with the great quality and the elimination of needed wifi extenders. You really can't go wrong with this one, especially if you need it to cover a large area as it covers up to 2000 open air space or 650 feet of regular use, which is astonishing by today's standards! Even in the dark, you can still see up to 130 feet. If you are looking for a great system with all the bells and whistles, you can't go wrong with this this one. Its features and capabilities are far superior to other brands I have been looking at. I totally recommend to anyone serious about protecting their home, especially those who need it to work for long distances!
