5Q Brilliance is a Brilliant Hairdryer
I have been extremely pleased with the 5Q Brilliance Hairdryer. I previously had an expensive salon quality hairdryer that lasted for 10 years. To replace my hairdryer with a similar model was proved very expensive. After doing some research online I found the 5Q Brilliance by Vidal Sassoon, it had impressive specs, asked my hairdresser for his opinion, he gave it the thumbs up so decided to go ahead and buy it. I couldn't be happier with this hairdryer, it performs better than my previous expensive hairdryer, it's much quieter, lighter, dries my hair quickly and gives a salon like finish. Great quality and great price.

Strong brilliant hairdyer but...
I bought this hairdryer and I have the frizziest of hair. It is stronger than my turbo one that died after 20 years and could not work out why it was not getting my hair straight enough. With much thought I decided to change the nozzle and straight away my hair got straighter and straighter. I put my old turbo hairdryer's shorter and thinner nozzle on and my hair straight away produced all that moisture and steam I need to get my hair straight and I have since had so many comments on how good my hair looks. The dryer is brilliant BUT it needs two nozzles to choose from. One shorter and small for extreme frizz and the one that you have provided is good for general drying

Lots of power nice and quiet
Powerful. Even on medium flow, plenty of air to dry even thick hair. Good discernible levels of heat from the three heat settings. Never use the top heat setting, but the heat is there if you want it. The cool button is definitely cool, not just air with the heat absent,, so great for setting. The machine is surprisingly quiet, even on the high flow setting. I find the controls on the side of the handle a bit awkward. I much prefer the more conventional controls on the front of the handle, where your fingers naturally fall when gripping. Overall, it feels and works like a quality machine. Not inexpensive, but not over the top in price either. I can happily recommend this to anyone.

An awesome hair dryer let down by the diffuser
I love the VS brand and whilst I’d love to give five stars to the 5Q I can only give four stars. The dryer is up to the usual high standard, if not better than my previous dryers, however it is let down by the diffuser. It is too small and blows hair around, rather than gather up and gently dry my soft curls. The diffuser seems too direct due to its small circumference. I highly recommend this dryer if you are not a regular diffuser user.
