Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great budget straightener I bought this hair straightener to mainly curl my hair. It rounded end makes it super easy to curl my hair and leaves the curls looking flawless! I love the little display to show you the temperature and it heats up super fast - virtually no waiting time at all. I find it pretty handy that it has a self shut off so it doesn't burn down the house as I can be pretty forgetful. I am using this daily (with a heat protecting spray) and feel like I haven't had any damage to my hair. Pretty happy with my purchase.

The swivel cord helps when straightening the hair, but you have to angle it perfectly to get the hair straightener to stay straight when you put it down.

I bought them about 5 years ago as my GHD's had stopped working and I couldn't afford new GHD's. 5 years later my Remingtons are still going strong. My daughter always straightens her curly hair with them when she visits so I've just bought her a pair as she also thinks they work better than GHD's

I purchased this straightener on a whim when my luggage got lost at the airport and made a mad dash to chemist, the low price perfect for my minimal budget and was even marketed to be great for curling hair, one of my main uses of hair straighteners. The black exterior makes the product look sleek and the ceramic plates smooth the hair. Upon start-up the tool heats up super fast to its maximum temperature of 230°c and is adjustable down to 150°c. I personally have relatively normal hair but ALOT of it, as my hairdresser reminds me every time, so between that and the need to take quite small portions of hair each time it does take a good portion out of time a routine to either straighter or curl my hair. After a couple of hours I can see the frizz coming back with a vengeance or my curls dropping so if you're looking for a new permanent fixture keep in mind that this hair tool will not allow you to go a couple of days with just a few touch-ups here and there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Didn't live up to expectation I bought this straightener in a pinch when my other one broke. The straightener is black with rounded edges at the plates so it doubles as a curling iron/tong. The plates are ceramic to smooth hair but not damage it with continued use. The plates heat up to 220 degrees and it heats up within seconds. You can control the heat settings so if you want to go low on the heat to be gentler on your strands the heat settings will enable you to do that. I find I have to section my hair into very small sections to get it straight. The plate edges are sealed in well and it doesn't snag my hair as I've had my other straightener do. The iron doesn't straighten my hair well because I can still see frizz in my hair. With this straightener I have to straighten my hair every day while with my other straightener I can go a couple days with small touch ups in between if need be. I think for the price its an ok straightener but I splurged on a high end straightener and could clearly see the difference when compared with this.
