Rated 3 out of 5 by from good shaver i guess [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So i have used these types of Phillips shavers before, this does nothing different or better. The motor i find quieter but that's pretty much it. Maybe it's just the shape of my face (which i would like to feel is normal) but it takes quite some time to get all the hair away from certain areas of my neck and below the ears. It claims to have "SkinIQ", i disagree. It claims to a "power adapt sensor", i certainly disagree with that also, at no point have i noticed any more or less power. Yes, it does give a very smooth shave, however, is it anything special?? not really. This is just my opinion.

Since my last, unfortunately, unsuccessful adventure with an electric shaver that completely disappointed me, this time I decided to give the Shaver series 5000 from Philips a chance. A shaver with a nice appearance, handy, comfortable to use and with a battery that allows you to use it several times on a single charge. The shaver does not irritate my skin like the previous one, it is easy to clean. Unfortunately, the Series 5000 does not shave as close as I would like and I have to finish shaving with a manual shaver. So I'm still looking for a shaver that will allow me to get a close shave every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Razor [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having always been a soap and razor kind of guy, I was pleasantly surprised by this unit. It provides a clean, close shave in the shower since it is waterproof. It is lightweight and super easy to clear as the head pops up so you can rinse it out. There is no need for shaving cream/gel or soap. With the trimmer, I am able to neatly trim my mustache. The battery lasts a long time as a one-hour charge provides enough power for at least 5 shaves as that is the number of times it has been used, so far. It is reported to be able to power 20 shaves on a single charge which is great for travel. This has changed me from a manual razor to battery operated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great replacement for my old Norelco [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 11 year old Norelco was showing signs of wear in the base that held the blade assembly so I decided to replace. I topped off the charge of the 5300 & found it shaved close, comfortably, without irritation & easily traced all my facial nooks & crannies. I found the shaver to be comfortable to hold. The 5300 shows the approximate level of charge left where my old shaver simply started flashing orange when it was out. The new one’s charge lasts much longer too. The new one washes out easily, easier than the old one. I found a great replacement for “old faithful.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gives a great close shave [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shaver charges quite quickly up to full but having the added feature of a quick charge for one use is great for empty battery times! The battery itself does last through a good many shaves before needing to be recharged. One of the most striking thing for me is how quiet the shaver is in use and yet it does a great job of providing me with a very close shave without many passes. After use the shaver is very easy to clean of debris. The only niggle I have with this shaver is the position of the trimmer, it makes using it on my face fiddly but it is great for use on other areas.

It features Skin Protect Blades, 360° Contour Heads, a Pop-up Trimmer, and a Smart Hair Sensor that features Sense IQ technology that can sense and adapt to your face. The pop-up trimmer feature is great for sideburns and mustaches. Every shave is close and my skin feels great after I use it. If you are looking for a high quality Shaver, I would suggest that you get a Philips Norelco Shaver 5300 Wet & Dry Electric Shaver, Series 5300. It is the best electric Shaver that I have ever used!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shaver S5887/10 review A good smooth shave, quiet and looks stylish. In six weeks it has needed recharging just two times which is good. On an earlier 5000 model the flip-out cover used to fall off when I lightly tapped the shaver to clean it. This model has made the joint more secure. My wishlist: I would prefer it to have a more depressed power button. When shaving I have repeatedly pressed the power off. The switch is in the middle of the grip area. Perhaps moved upwards, or more depressed, would be better for me. Is there any reason why it could not have a USB-C socket for charging? Rather than the 2-prong shaver adaptor that does not fit anything else.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great feeling Shaver but no charging adapter [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shaver feels great on my skin and cuts quite efficiently. Its also easy to clean and maintain. My biggest complaint is two fold. 1. No power adapter is sold with it. An issue that's become common with a lot of electric devices. I already have too many things demanding my USB slots, why should I have to charge my shaver with it too? Or buy my own, but that adds to the price of this already. 2. There is no way to tell how charged the shaver is when its plugged in from what I can tell. How soon can I stop having it hogging USB slots would be nice to know. Otherwise I like this shaver.
