Great value, will suit 90% of AV Receiver buyers.
Good basic receiver with easy setup. One thing I love is that I can change the name of the inputs as displayed, eg, to Apple TV, and so now won't have to guess which one of HDMI inputs I'm selecting. Also, can boost dialogue audio level which is great if you are getting a bit on in years ;) . Remote has nice sized buttons, and not too many of them. On-screen controls are brilliant, easy to navigate. At the price, it's hard to beat. Haven't tried the bluetooth input, which may be useful in a party situation.

Great value for money
I bought this two weeks ago to replace an RX-V659. I've downsized where I live, and was getting tired of not having HDMI support in my receiver. The 385 is perfect for my medium size lounge room and so easy to set up. Nice to see the YAPO speaker calibration on the base model and Bluetooth work well for listening to the music on my phone. Very good value for money for the feature set.

Great sound for the price
This unit is great so far and works well with my existing speakers. I was expecting to have to go out and buy all new HDMI cords for ARC to work, it all works with the existing ones I had. It turns on and off with my TV and changes inputs when I turn something on. The only remote I need once set up is my TV one.

Are there options for adjusting eq or for what volume each section of speaker is. Via the remote or even an app?

Yes, you can adjust the EQ on the receiver by selecting the "Speaker" and then the "Equalizer" option in the setup menu, choosing the mode between GEQ or PEQ, and then using the cursor keys to select the desired channel and frequency band to adjust the gain. Can I run a cd player and turntable off the rxv385
Great question Wazza! For the CD Player, and a turntable with a pre-amp built-in (most modern turntables have this included), yes, provided it accepts connections through Digital Optical, Coaxial, or AV connectors located on the back-left of the unit. Alternatively, you may have to opt for a higher end model that include a specific Phono connection for Pre-Amp onboard. Have a chat with your local store for more info. Trust this helps! ^CO

Hi would this unit Bluetooth to a new LG smart tv please so I can wire connect speakers to the amplifier please?
Thanks for your question Pete. We would recommend wiring the unit directly to the TV via HDMI or optical connection. Connecting this through Bluetooth would result in audio cut-out, and could also be impacted by other devices, causing sound delays, and a less than ideal audio experience. Trust this helps! ^CO

Does the Yamaha RX-V385 support multi-zone?
Fantastic question Bryan. We have spoken with the supplier and can confirm this does not support multi-zone. They recommend the Yamaha RXV6A which features "Zone 2" allowing multi-zone playback from different sources. It can be ordered online or through your local store directly, who can assist with costs and fulfillment times. Trust this helps!

Hi Qarl. Thanks for your question. Neither unit has a phono input to connect a turntable. The MCR-N470 has 2 speaker outputs. One for left and one for right.
