Rated 5 out of 5 by Grace224 from Great Value I purchased this Panasonic Blu-Ray player for my husband last Christmas. I must admit I was a little dubious as it was advertised at a Christmas Special price, and it seemed so much cheaper than all the other DVD players. When it was delivered I was surprised at how light this player was, I was starting to think "maybe the price was too good to be true". After reading the short instruction leaflet, I was pleasantly surprised when my husband who is 80 years old, and definitely not very technical, managed to set it up so quickly. One plug in the power point, the other in the HDMI jack, and it was all set up and ready to go. I highly recommend this player, it is so easy to set up, unlike the older DVD players. I also recommend it for seniors as it is so light and can easily be moved to clean around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bill from Fairly easy to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this not long ago and I've used for the first time a couple of days ago. I found the interface easy to navigate around and the player to be quiet and quick to load. However, the remote control is too small, I was constantly bumping buttons while trying to push others, I found the small remote gave me hand cramps and I also found the eject button on the remote quite hard to see even wearing glasses. I personally think you should consider redesigning the remote to be larger and easier to see. Also maybe consider including a WIFI connection as well as keeping the LAN connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by The Wizard of Reels from Effortless setup, pleased and a bit delighted [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace a competitor's unit after it finally bit the dust. Connecting to my television was a breeze, and it was nice to discover that an HDMI cable was included. The remote performs every function with just a light press, and I'm quite impressed with both the sound and picture quality. The first movies watched were the Blu-Ray HD editions of The Hobbit trilogy, and they were even better than I remembered. Every scene and character just popped beautifully on screen. It's honestly really nice to be watching my DVD and Blu-Ray collection again, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lee from Easy to use, good picture quality, fast [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this last week as a second Blu Ray player for the house, as we increasingly shift away from streaming services. Great picture quality, easy enough to use, and faster than my old high-end Yamaha player. I also use it to play AVCHD Blu Rays of family movies that I record on my Panasonic 4k video camera, and burn to disc on my Panasonic PVR. If they did a version in Australia without Netflix and the lite “smart” features, that would be ideal. Keep it simple! To that end, the software could be a little more polished and modern, which would be helped with fewer features. Quality over quantity!

Rated 3 out of 5 by jmars from Does it's job, but there are better options Bought this as it plays Blu-rays (check), DVDs (check), and connects to the internet to play netflix (check). However, please note that it is HD only, only plays region 4 DVDs, and only connects to the internet via LAN cable. All explained on the box, kind of/sort of, but also pretty unsatisfactory. You can find better at the same price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris from Packed with features I bought this player mainly to play Bluray. But now I use the Netflix app and the USB port for a hard drive. It uses Ethernet to connect to the Internet which is fast and reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve from I would buy this product again I bought this unit just for the blueray player. Once I brought it home I updated the unit to it's latest firmware and it's working fine. I tried using the other features like Netflix and YouTube which is a bonus to keep me entertained. For it's price it's a good product.

Does it have ports to attach speakers?

Great question Alistair! You won't be able to connect to speakers directly. Instead this can be connected to an amplifier or audio receiver via HDMI connection, which can then be used to distribute audio through the speaker network. Trust this helps! ^CO
