Rated 5 out of 5 by Grace224 from Great Value I purchased this Panasonic Blu-Ray player for my husband last Christmas. I must admit I was a little dubious as it was advertised at a Christmas Special price, and it seemed so much cheaper than all the other DVD players. When it was delivered I was surprised at how light this player was, I was starting to think "maybe the price was too good to be true". After reading the short instruction leaflet, I was pleasantly surprised when my husband who is 80 years old, and definitely not very technical, managed to set it up so quickly. One plug in the power point, the other in the HDMI jack, and it was all set up and ready to go. I highly recommend this player, it is so easy to set up, unlike the older DVD players. I also recommend it for seniors as it is so light and can easily be moved to clean around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bill from Fairly easy to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this not long ago and I've used for the first time a couple of days ago. I found the interface easy to navigate around and the player to be quiet and quick to load. However, the remote control is too small, I was constantly bumping buttons while trying to push others, I found the small remote gave me hand cramps and I also found the eject button on the remote quite hard to see even wearing glasses. I personally think you should consider redesigning the remote to be larger and easier to see. Also maybe consider including a WIFI connection as well as keeping the LAN connection.

Rated 3 out of 5 by jmars from Does it's job, but there are better options Bought this as it plays Blu-rays (check), DVDs (check), and connects to the internet to play netflix (check). However, please note that it is HD only, only plays region 4 DVDs, and only connects to the internet via LAN cable. All explained on the box, kind of/sort of, but also pretty unsatisfactory. You can find better at the same price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chris from Packed with features I bought this player mainly to play Bluray. But now I use the Netflix app and the USB port for a hard drive. It uses Ethernet to connect to the Internet which is fast and reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Steve from I would buy this product again I bought this unit just for the blueray player. Once I brought it home I updated the unit to it's latest firmware and it's working fine. I tried using the other features like Netflix and YouTube which is a bonus to keep me entertained. For it's price it's a good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by C P from Compact and easy to set up [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon pickup from the local electronics store, my father was happy to find that the device itself is compact, so it would easily fit in his TV cabinet compartment. After a lot of research, I chose this model (DMP-BD84GN-K) over the cheaper Panasonic DVD player (DVD-S500GN), as this model has HDMI output connection and comes with a HDMI cable, while the cheaper model I believe only has RCA output (no HDMI). Furthermore, this model is smaller and more compact than the cheaper model, and it can play Blu-ray, along with DVD, CD, and USB. It was easy to connect to my father's TCL smart TV using the provided HDMI cable, and he was able to load and start a DVD relatively easily. Thank you very much.

Rated 1 out of 5 by jcs5 from Didn't last one month Crashes every time you watch more than one episode on Netflix. You have to turn it off at the power and cross your fingers that it will turn back on. Usually takes 5 frustrating minutes. Don't waste your money.
