Rated 5 out of 5 by from Movie theater sound you can feel [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We finally have the movie theater sound at home! This soundbar has Dolby Atmos and it really does provide an immersive 3D surround sound experience. We have a better movie watching experience. Set-up was pretty easy and seamless with our smart tv. The 10-inch subwoofer is probably what we had been missing. The deep bass sound it provides is so good and made our favorite movies come to life. I appreciate the Pure voice technology because I can hear dialogue so clearly. It comes with a remote control but we also got the JBL One App on our phone which makes it easy to control and customize the soundbar. We are re-watching all our favorite movies with this soundbar & subwoofer combo - cause it’s made our living room into a theater! Truly impressed with the difference it’s made in our surround sound quality and enjoyment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bass is good, but muddy bass is bad. I am happy with the Bar 500 Mk2. I found the bass to be obstructive in many use cases where the 110 Hz to 250 Hz is too strong making a "muddy" base which is not ideal. JBL lovers (4311's) enjoy crisp, thumping kick pedal bass, but not well executed here. I know my way around an equalizer so I drop 110 Hz by -6 dB and keep 40 Hz at -1 Hz to de-muddy the bass. Level 3 is often too much bass for watching TV series where there is deep booming bass during normal conversational scenes on TV. The 3D effect is quite good, but hardly any pgm on streaming services have Dolby encoding. Only sources with Dolby coding are digital off the air channels, but they're playing news or 1980's sitcoms.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not enough clarity at low volume The system overall seems too biased towards bass. I bought it specifically in the hopes of being able to enhance voice quality in movies but the bass is too strong, overpowering voice levels. Additional to this the app does not have any equaliser presets which makes finding appropriate levels quite difficult and a bit of pot luck. The design is great, and it was really easy to get up and running and use, but you really need to pump the volume to get clarity and that comes at the expense of extreme bass that I don't think my neighbours will appreciate long term (even with bass at it lowest setting).

A side by side with a more expensive unit may demonstrate shortcomings, but this thing sounds great. I’m talking playing music, not just as a sound bar for viewing movies. Very easy to set up, almost plug & play. There are a couple of steps, like calibrating for the acoustics of your room. Just a button on the remote & an app on your phone for instruction to complete the speaker setup. Multiple choices for connecting to your TV, including a USB connector (U.S. version only) should you have a source that isn’t Bluetooth capable. It is 5.1 with Dolby atmos & multi beam 3.0.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Full, Well-Mixed Sound That Sets Itself Up You're getting an incredible experience with this system. I'd say if you are filling a 750 sq ft sound space, this unit is perfect. Clear highs and filling lows mixed seamlessly to give you a music, movie, or YouTube session worth your ears. It is perfectly capable of filling your entire house with your tunes while you chore it up on a Saturday; while making your movies and shows dole out the adrenaline they were meant to give. I have a relatively open floor plan house. That said, the floor below you will know what you're watching is intense because the bass is driven effectively into the floor, creating a resounding reverb. The self-tuning to the rooms ambiance is a nice touch used in the professional industry, now in your home.

I use this system in my living room on my main TV. I replaced my old 15-year-old Sony surround. I noticed right away the difference between the old RCA jack connected receiver then the HDMI ARC connection. I just turned on my TV and it automatically connects seamlessly. I'm listening to Great audio and deep bass. Now it automatically detects Samsung's cinematic mode and even gives me better audio clarity with surround sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value for its money. I brought this great product the other day. I just had to say it’s absolutely impeccable. You don’t know what music is until you hear it from this system. I love the customisable eq settings and how it sounds absolutely amazing. It doesn’t distort and it can handle very very loud volumes no problem with an awfully strong bass no matter what song you play. I would definitely recommend this if your looking for something with a lot of customisable features and you want something that’ll annoy the neighbours.
